United Legends Matchday 3 Team DanNistelrooy vs Team Cal?

This is a United Legends Fantasy competition. Managers are required to assemble their squads of United Legends by selecting players who have made at least 100 post-WW2 appearances for United based on their performances for United and overall footballing impact/contributions to United. As in any team, team tactics and balance also play a part. Hence please carefully consider the abovesaid factors and evaluate the merits of both teams before voting for the team which in your opinion is the better United Legends team.

Managers in the same group please abstain from voting. Thank you.

John O'shea - Mr Reliable/Versatile. Provider of some magic moments in his time at United in which he accumulated almost 400 appearances for United.

Gary Pallister - One of the best centre backs Fergie has had in his time at United. Quick, strong and can also play a bit.

Kevin Moran - Over 200 caps for United, 70 for Ireland and was also capable of chipping in at the other end. With 21 goals for United

Roger Byrne - Captain of the famous Busy Babes. 280 caps for United.

Jesper Olsen - Providing the width on the left hand side is Jesper Olsen, with over 150 caps for United and 40 for his country.

Ray Wilkins - staying on his feet in midfield is Ray Wilkins. 160 caps for United and Alongside Roy Keane, my midfield will not be bullied

Roy Keane - Not much needed to be said about Keano. The most influential central midfielder during the club's most successful era. Not a lot that Keane couldn't do very well

Andrei Kanchelskis - Width on the right hand side comes from the pacey Kanchelskis. Superb player for United during the start of the Premiership and scorer of a famous hat-trick against City

Mark Hughes - Over 450 caps and 160 goals for United. One of the key men to propel United back to Domestic dominance at the start of the Premiership era.

Denis Law - United's 2nd top scorer of all time, the King.

On the contrary, Dan's defence is better than yours i reckon. You've got 2 players out of position, both of whom will receive little to no protection from the players in front of them. Kanchelskis would have a field day against Fortune.

You have good players in there. But in terms of impact, Saha only really made any of note at the start of the 2006/07 season, where I admit - he was fantastic.

If you had Rooney up top you would get more votes, I don't think I've met anyone who is a fan of him on the left.

Obviously Ronaldo is one of the best players we have had, so no argument there.

But a Hughes - Law strike force has had just as much impact as yours.

The key for me in this one is Kanchelskis and Byrne up against Fortune, who was an okay midfielder but not sure how he'd cope at left back

Oh well, this match is written off, will sort out my team in the extra drafting and Fortune will not be at LB come the semis.

I'd have Phil Neville at right back with Henning Berg at centre half with Ronny Johnsen playing the holding role.

I like your team, Cal. Just needs a few minor tweaks.. Let's say you had Keane in your team instead of Fortune, and then switch Phizza to LB, you'd have a fantastic team IMO.

It was an even bigger mismatch in my game - Best and G. Neville up against Fortune - and Cal? still won.
