United pencil in Scholes return

Schemer could make comeback at beginning of December

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping to have Paul Scholes at his disposal for the beginning of December.

Scholes suffered medial ligament damage in United's UEFA Champions League victory away to AaB Aalborg in September.

The Red Devils fly out to Japan for the Fifa Club World Cup after the Tottenham game on 13th December and Ferguson feels Scholes could make his comeback prior to the trip to the Far East.

"We are pencilling Paul in for the week before the Japan trip," Ferguson said in the Manchester Evening News.

"He is doing very well and kicking the ball and doing straight running."

Thats good to know. When he returns he will give us more ability and control in midfield at a time when we need it.

The Japan trip would be useful for him to get some games and get back to sharpness.

Brilliant.

I know we don't miss him or need him, but it just brings a sense of security having him there. If not in the team, just on the bench to bring on and calm the game down if need be.

Makes the Japan trip retain some use as well.

All hail the ginger prince! Be good to see him back, but hopefully not at the expense of Fletch as it would be very cruel to just dump him after how well he's played so far.

I disagree, we miss him badly when he's out.

Fletcher's performed admirably in his absence, and Carrick has stepped up his attacking game to compensate for Scholes' loss as well.

So I don't think we have missed him, not as much as we missed Carrick.

Actually, the way Fletcher has improved, especially his tackling, I think we didn't miss Scholes in that department.

Even his incisive passing, as demonstrated by Fletcher's one touch-pass to Tevez for Berbatov's goal against Stoke, Scholes would have been proud of the quality of the pass.

With Scholes back, the midfield dominance would be more apparent, more cultured and more exciting.

fletch has been excellent.
Scolesy is another great option in a midfield when we need to play expansive football at a time when the game is stretched.

Could have done with him at Le Arse to be fair
