If he stayed he would become a real United legend, and he appears to be risking his entire legacy at United by the way he has acted over the past couple of months. If he walks out now, especially if this drags on any longer and relations between him and Ferguson get more strained the he'll turn from hero to villain among United fans in an astonishingly short period of time and that would be a real shame.

How will United do without him? Depends who we bring in. The figures they're talking about are astronomical and if Fergie gets to see all that money then I've no doubt we'll rebuild and will be fine - my gut instinct says that it'll bring the best out of Rooney for a start. My fear is that we lose Ronaldo and don't invest the money back in the squad, and £20m or so simply disappears into the black hole of our debt.
