We can actually field a good English XI

Amos
Smalling - Ferdinand - Jones
Carrick
Zaha Scholes Cleverley Young
Rooney Welbeck

Amos is the only weaker player there.

Quality. Reckon if you dropped one of Scholes/Young/Zaha then played Michael Keane at right back you'd easily have a balanced line up capable of top 4. Would mean Jones at left back but I don't see why he couldn't play there.

Michael Keane would probably be better suited there than Jones, he's played there a bit at youth and reserve level.

Eufa is corrupt to fuck, if they think they can help Real, or others that might bribe them, by bringing in more nationality restrictions then they will, and we must be ready for that.

Let's not forget the first foreigner restriction rules were brought in purely to counter Liverpool and other English clubs dominance by trying to take away their Scottish etc players. They're cunts, full stop.

True, had forgotten about that. I think I like the idea of Jones being able to cut in on his stronger foot through the middle during these mentalist runs he does, mind. Until recently, I half wondered whether that would be his best shot short term of cementing a first team spot.

Like you say though, Keane has previous there.

I feel like we should wait until he has played 50 games in the top two leagues before adding him to XI's.

Well SAF has always maintained a solid British core to build from, Rio, Scholes and Giggs god bless em will probably all be gone in a year or two, Carrick will be hitting his mid thirties as well around that point so it's smart to be getting them all in now.

It will be interesting what sort of leadership role Rooney takes on, as silly as it might sound he'll be a hero to most of those lads, he will need to step up and set the standard.

I wasn't adding him myself, personally. I was just saying that if you were to bring him in it would be best to play him at left back and Jones at right back rather than the other way around.

Amos is fine though, he's played millions of top flight games.

Okay we've warmed up with just the British talent. Now we can let in our foreign stars too...

De Gea; Jones; Smalling; Rafael; Fabio; Powell; Cleverley; Zaha; Kagawa; Welbeck; Henriquez.

Over the next few years we are likely to sign/develop more of the same too. If we're not the best team in the World in 5 years time, I'm going to eat a camel.

I just wish we'd kept Pogba! He's looked like Yaya Toure and Vieira's spawn for Juve this season.

That's a brave call when you consider how good Bayern and Barcelona have been at developing their youth lately.

True.
It's just a hypothetical English line up. You have to pick someone in some sort of formation.

I'd rather spend the money on sorting out the 'Carrick replacement' and wait and see if Tyler Blackett makes progress at left back.

Well, similar to how we had to replace Roy Keane with a player who was nothing like him, we may have to look at a different type of player again.

I think we have enough attack minded midfielders with Ando/Cleverley/Powell and so on, need a more defensive minded midfielder to take over from Carrick- hopefully somebody physically dominant and mobile.

We didn't replace Scholes or Giggs with a similar player, partly because they refuse to retire.

Over time Kagawa will drop deeper in my opinion, into the midfield engine role. Thats my guess.

The trend is to move away from two DMs in a 4231 (see Man City), to at least one and perhaps even two proper midfielders.
