Van Der Sar
I've noticed a few people moaning about him after the way he dealt with the long range shots in the Pompey game.
I think you're being rather harsh on him as its very easy for 'keepers to get embarrassed by these long rangers with the modern footballs. Look at Deco's goal on the opening weekend of the season, everyone is banging on about it but lets face it, it was straight at David James and he should have saved it. VDS is just playing it safe, he'll do me fine. |

I don't think its just those 2 yesterday though. He does have an habit of parrying into the danger area every now and then. I have no problem with him parrying it, its where it goes after he's parried it.
Still a quality goalkeeper and is still the number one at United. |

VDS does seem to have a habit of flapping long rangers down infront of him, see Roma and Pompey from 2 seasons ago, but i'd rather have that than see someone like James jus let them fly past him.
He's a fine goalkeeper, the best we've had for 9 years so i don't how people can moan at one tiny flaw he has. What would they prefer, Roy Carroll? |

Are they using the Euro 2008 ball? Looks to me that they are since it has much more predictable aerodynamics than the crap ball they used last year which flew about like a kids plastic £1 effort. If so it'll be the end of the Ronaldo specials.
