Viva Ronaldo

That's caught on fast in the space of a week!

Class last night.
Decent atmosphere generally until the game went mongy and we started thinking more about the Chelsea score and singing more about Sunday's match...

Could definitely hear it from the Stretty loud and clear. And in the tunnels after.

Shame no one in East Tier 2 seemed to know it.

That'll soon change - nobody near me in the Stretty knew it at the last match!

There are two versions If I am not wrong. One with a faster tempo than the other.

The words are easy so people can catch on quick. However the same can't be said about the Anderson song, they know the Anderson-son-son and he shits on Fabregas part but the start is a bit shaky still, last night it was Anderson-son-son he our midfield magician, Anderson-son-son he our midfield magician haha, no mention of Kleberson..... It will come though.

Would that you weren't...

Maybe it just sounded like this due to two halves of the stretty continuously getting out of sync? (I still think we should try Frere Jacque or London Bridge is Burning Down eom time!)

I don't agree, in the Stretty as a whole it was being sung out of tune with the wrong words last night, funny to hear.

Both that and Viva Ronaldo ae tricky on the tongue I find. Takes concentration!

Where was the Bertie Mee song last night though?

We also need to start singing "We Can See Your Sneaking Out" at the early leavers in the Stretty. It's getting absurd.

I was surprised at the empty seats with five minutes to go. The lot next to me left with fifteen minutes on the clock and we're followed by a lot more. Strange isn't it?

It is odd. The one that amazed me most was the Lyon match, which was one goal away from extra time!
The upside is that there are invariable some empty seats right next to the exit - I head down and stand there when the clock hits zero, if I'm in a rush to get awy!

The United - Portsmouth game was my first visit to OT in ages, and was coincidentally lucky enough to get seats at the stretty end.

Felt pretty embarassed when they started singing Viva Ronaldo seeing as I'd never heard it.

Good to know its a relatively new chant and im with the times

There was a guy in the 'Munich Tunnel' after the game singing different words to Viva Ronaldo;

Bolton at home
Bolton at home
Bolton at home
I could hear their songs
What the fuck's going on?
Bolton at home.

You we're not the only one, and I go all the time. I am in the south stand mind, so we only catch on the new songs a month later.

You're right.

I was trying to get a chant of "We can see you sneaking out" going at them. I reckon ST2 was about 25% full at the end. And the atmosphere was no worse. Imagine what we could achieve if we got all those who sing and stay to the end together in one block?

Really? Not with much success!

Didn't realise it had been "re-launched". Maybe there's still hope for Boylie's "There's nothing you can do whan he goes past you...."!

To be fair, 8pm mid-weeks can be a major pain in the arse to get home from, and the match wasn't exactly on a knife edge. I can sort of understand people leaving in the last couple of minutes - as I say, it's not like I was hanging around to applaud the team off the pitch this time - was on teh councourse by the time the refs whistle finished blowing!

But the 5 minute or more crew?

Have to say its good to hear a chant sung consistently for a long while. Watching it on tv it didn't seem the loudest, in fact I thought it was sung louder away to Derby. Loudest chant last night imo was the Vidic one, but thats cause everyone knows that by now.

When did the Viva Ronaldo chant start?

I heard it loud and clear on tv,but the comical part was the stand opposite to the dugout which have the tv cameras on them during the match were sitting like dolls.

I was in the east stand last night and could hear viva ronaldo all night from the stretty it sounded class. There were a few people trying to start it off in the east but to no avail.

If the young lads post on here that were singing all night in the east upper fair play to you. They didn't stop all night, wish there were more like them.

They did start singing 'who are ya' which is a bit worrying from the youth!

All I heard was Megson berrating his players, which tells us something about where the microphones are located. I don't understand why Sky don't stick alongside the Stretty, surely the game is better for the viewer is the atmosphere is conveyed? I can only think its something to do with screening bad language

I wasn't at the Bolton match, but I look forward to sitting amongst silence whilst the Stretty belt it out on Sunday . Hopefully the atmosphere will be rocking and my stand will get involved too
