We`re on!

Not the most exciting of games, but we stayed tight at the back and had loads of possesion. Grinding out results in these games with a short squad is so vital to retaining the Premiership.

Well done today lads.

I thought it was a very exciting game
though we deserved at least 2 or 3 -0

Shit on a stick but we got 3 points on a bogey ground. Too much hoofing and we lacked the killer touch.

Thought it was quite a good game overall and we got the three points.

Tevez was very impressive again, would like to see him doing it further up the pitch at times though.

Tbf of the eleven starters, I would have been fine with all them starting just about any match, Ronaldo for O'Shea though

Didnt think it was a boring game at all. Our passing was excellent and were solid at the back. Top performance considering we've struggled at Pompey in the past

We did steamroll them, but didn`t create as much as we used to. Were very good until the final third of the pitch IMO, where we struggled to be creative enough..

They were never close though.

excellent game, never into trouble. Never panicking but unfortunately we coulden't kill them off. Still a lack of creativity but Tevez and Rooney try hard to solve that. At the moment without luck though

We should have had a penalty on Rooney and Rooney also got a perfectly legal goal ruled offside.

1 tough away game out the way

A win against the Dippers at the Chavs and we will be sitting pretty.

Which considering I have Rooney in my Fantasy team is a bit irritating.

We passed them to death whilst in second gear.

I thought it was great to watch.

Don't forget we would have had at least 2 goals if it hadn't been for the assistant, Rooney wasn't offside.

Tevez is looking great at the moment.

Diarra(?) couldn't get near him.

Great result. Good game. Tevez was everywhere, what a player. Our Back four handled the game pretty well, although Evra still has some way to go till he reaches his best. VDS had little to do. Good performance overall.

Thought it was an excellent performance. Can't fault any of the lads.

Second half was brilliant. Away at Pompey and they didn't have a single chance, and were reduced to a couple of hopeful long-range shots straight at VDS. Should have ahd a second with Rooney's perfectly legit goal, and a penalty when Rooney was kicked in the box. A couple of other half chances, and overall a much improved performance compared to Sunday.

Still to come back from injury/suspension/Spurs:
Carrick
Giggs
Nani
Park
Hargreaves
Saha
Cristiano Ronaldo
Berbatov

Rooney sticked upfront and he did very well. Once he gains confidence in that role he will be as effective as Ronaldo.

Sometimes I have the feeling the role should be better for Tevez because he is a better targetman but then again if ferguson sticks him upfront he can't harrass every other player on the pitch. As a player closing the opposition down he is better than Rooney.

Agreed. Although i am happy with Rooney's performance.

While we did have possession, I felt we should have tested James more instead of passing around the box and then trying to walk into the net.

Every single player had a good game, and it's not often you can say that when John O'Shea is in the side.

Considering our recent record at Fat Bell-ringing Cunt Park that was a very classy performance.

Next stop Monaco.

IMO we lacked real penetration, which is down to us lacking our wingers. Considering that, an excellent display, once Pompey had done their running, the difference in class shone through.

One goal was enough, and the 2nd half was a stroll. We're looking so solid, Chelsea under Mourinho springs to mind. We're obviously a lot more fun though.

Was getting frustrated the first 15 minutes or so when we were content to just hoof the ball up. Then we started to play our game, and deserved the win. Good game, good result.

4 away games in a row, counting Monaco. The Old Trafford should be sad!
