Well that'll do, eh?

Good result

Performance was somehow both terrible, and excellent, at the same time. But fuck it. We'll do them at OT.

They'll pick us off at OT, despite not being as good as us.

No away goal, and we don't have the balls to take them on properly, and now they know it

Yeah they expected to see the "Best team in Europe" and after about 3 minutes they realised it wasn't you.

Best defence in the world, made stronger with Vidic being back for the second leg.

Best goal scorer in the champions league.

Fantastic home record in the champions league.

I think we'll win the match.

Messi was absolutely phenomenal, picked us apart at will. Clearly much better than Maradona.

It makes it all better seeing how desperate you are to see us knocked out.

Yea I was amazed, his hair was even better than Ronaldo's. Is there anything closer to a perfect human being?

I agree, those mazy runs that cut our defence apart.

Those 3 goals he set up show he is clearly God in human form.

Was it me or was it actually a really fucking shite game? Missed penalty aside, neither team did anything of note and I can't actually remember anything. Atmosphere seemed shite an' all. Just didn't feel... right.

Lots of great build-up play from Barca, couldn't get the ball off them. Very few chances though...

A bit like Arsenal

I think they will.

I've got a bad feeling about it

If we thought we could "do" them, we wouldn't be playing with a ten man defence against them, being too shit scared to push forward from the edge of our own box.

They know we don't have enough assurance to really go at them, and they can play

We were away. That's the difference this season - we get results away in Europe by being stubborn, negative cnuts... a bit like Liverpool. (Though they do it at home too...)

In past seasons, we've tended to either a) go all-out and leave ourselves exposed, or b) be entirely shit, get outplayed and lose (Milan games)

Much as I love a), this way might actually get us to the final.

Now cheer up you nobclot

Noodle, do you honestly believe what you write? Because if you do, then you're the most pessimistic United fan on these boards

Would anyone have rather played Barcelona over 2 legs in the Qrt's instead of the semi's?

It would have certainly made for better football viewing.

IMO I think that our ability to win games ugly and be versatile in our approach to games will see us through, hopefully.

i believe that in all the ties we've had a 0-0 away we've gone out. if they score first, it's us chasing the game, and anything can happen then.

i'd be confident if we'd shown some balls out there, like against Roma last season. but we didn't really. couldn't even pass the ball.

Precisely. We're complaining about a 0-0 away from home, but I'd just like to point out that last year a 0-0 at the San Siro would have been a FANTASTIC result. We beat Milan at home. When we lost to Madrid in that epic two-legged affair, we won at home. When we lost to Porto, we won at home.

We don't usually have a problem winning at home (even against the big teams), it's the away tie where we tend to suck. And so a 0-0 away from home against one of the biggest and best clubs in the world with the home leg still to play and the European record that we have... is a great result.

Look on the bright side, people.

This is some good stuff.

Its a shame about the no away goal and it makes things edgy but the advantage is on our side now that we are at home. We even won our bogey team Milan at home. We have a brilliant record at home and one win away from the final.

I bet other teams wish they could go to the Nou Camp in a semi-final against Messi and come out with a clean sheet.

I would have liked the away goal but with the way we were playing...0-0 was the best result possible.

I'm chuffed with the 0-0, but only 'cause we were so spectacularly awful.

Thought we had a great chance to kill the tie the way Barca have been playing and because of their ever dodgy defence.

Look, I just watched a CL semi final involving the team I support, and love, and was so fucking shitface bored, I actually lost interest in the match. That's never happened before. It nearly did in the FA Cup Final, but I attributed that to Chelsea being Chelsea, and ruining football for everyone.

I've never seen anything so gutless as tonight though. We just flat out refused to get involved in a football match. If you think we can go into a game against them from that, where we have no cushion, or deficit to overcome, and think we can play with any conviction. Well, I can't see it.

We wont know what to do, or have the confidence to do it, they will. That's what worries me
