Roma is one of Europe's top 10 sides.

Spurs is not even among the top 10 sides in England.

I don't rate Roma at all. They laid down and let us walk over them with a B team. Feck 'em.

Roma and Lyon are obviously good sides. Anyone who thinks otherwise must think there are like four good sides on the whole continent.

People are jumping through some real hoops here to convince themselves we're in a crap position. Just to remind you, that position is that we need a home win to get to a final in which we'd play a worse team than us.

So what is the consensus on here? We are still in it or are we out?

Not just on here, on other United forums too and the media and "neutrals" changed favourite for the tie as well.

Unless the game next Tuesday has been cancelled, we are still in.

And even if it's been cancelled, which it hasn't been, it will be rescheduled for another date.

Then it wouldn't have been cancelled, but postponed or rescheduled.

By the way, that Real game. We made some huge defensive mistakes. This team's a much sounder outfit defensively. That said, without Rio, last year, we made similar errors resulting in Kaka stealing the show. I do think we'll be in better condition this time around.

Keane's own goal seem to unsettle United. Then Raul tore apart United's back four. Berg was well past it and that match showed.

Own goal by Keano and Berg looking about 45 years old against Redondo, wasn't it.

Can't remember their third goal though...

Let's hope Vidic gets back then. I think he could be the key.

Only because we need Hagreaves in midfield. Brown in the middle against Barca is fine. More concerned about having Vidic back for the Chelsea game. Brown is good against quick attackers, struggles more against physical players like Drogba.

Wasn't Hening's fault. Redondo just did something absurdly good

Although when Wes plays well, like he did yesterday, he's a good player to have against that lot, cos he's quick, a lot quicker than Vidic on the turn. But then, you never know if he's going to do something retarded, which Vidic hardly ever does.

47 GOAL! Man Utd 0 - 2 Real Madrid United are punished on the break barely three minutes into the second half. United are busy banging the ball into the Real box when McManaman intercepts. He races off into the United half leaving half the home team stranded. The former Liverpool man's left-foot pass finds Raul advancing on the right. He drags Silvestre to the edge of the box, cuts inside him and fires an unstoppable shot inside the post for his eigth Champions League goal of the season.

52 GOAL! Man Utd 0 - 3 Real Madrid Another goal on the break but this time United cannot really blame themselves. A phenomenal piece of skill from Fernando Redondo makes the whole thing possible, playing the ball around Henning Berg with a back heel and then advancing past the flummoxed Norwegian. It is then a simple case of slotting the ball across the box and finding the waiting Raul for the finish. The Argentinian duly does so, to the exhiliration of his teammates. United are in real trouble now.

I can remember a couple of "Brown moments™" yesterday but he played well no doubt about it.

Without doubt, although we did a sound enough job at the Nou Camp without him so I won't be losing too much sleep over it.

If we play to our best we win, and win comfortably I think, it's just whether we click. Just need the big guns to be on their A game on the night and we'll be fine and dandy, and then Noodle can have his usual moan about what might happen against our potential final opponents.

More like he wasn't up to United's class if they wanted to take that next step. Didn't help that Brown, Johnsen and May got crocked before the season began, Naybet's transfer collapsed, Parma wouldn't sell Thuram, Boro wanted far too much cash for Southgate, and other potential signings didn't happen. SAF was stuck with Silvestre whom Inter basically gave away (they had signed Blanc and some other Marseilles defender in the summer afterall).

Fucking hell. can't believe some of you are writing us off. So we didn't have a great game yesterday and we didn't get an away goal, it was still a good result and you've got to see us as favorites at home. The equation's quite simple, we have to win this leg and we're more than capable of doing that. Fucks sake, only 2 days back everyone was convinced that this squad was better than the 99 one!

I'm so glad I am not Noodle. I would have killed myself years ago.

It must be really hard for him to drag himself out of bed in the morning.
