LUck does play a role in the EPL. If it wasnt for extratime we would have been Champions. I think that united will always see the epl and cl at top priority. That were the prestige and money lie.

Firstly consolidate our position here at home for without it there'll be no dining at European football's top table. And to an extent one will follow the other.

I think both tournaments should be taken seriously. In my opinion the CL needs a revamp. Its too easy to go in the Cl this days which may encourage teams to focus on the Cl.

League, followed by anything else = a bonus!

I wouldn't say NO to a treble though

The league.Getting knocked out in the CL group stages doesn't hurt me that much, the league is the best thing to win

I guess winning the league is the priority. If I had to choose one to win now it would be the league.

But I hesitate to phrase it as a question of priorities because it implies you hold back a bit in Europe. I dont want to see that. I want us to give everything in both the league and Europe.

Happy to see us rest players or conserve energy in domestic cup competitions (though even then we should be aiming to win).

But I dont like the idea of league or CL being given real priority. I want to win both.

League is the bread and butter as they say.

But when if comes it came to the crunch and I had to choose between a PL and a CL for next season. I think I would probably pick the CL.

It's (the CL) a cup competition. Obviously there's some luck involved. But we shouldn't let seasons such as this where Chelsea did a Greece to win it cloud our judgment. Four of the last Five year's champions also won their domestic league and hence could truly be called the "Best team in Europe". There will always be the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool along the way because the top teams in those years simply weren't that great and these sides with little else to play for managed to raise themselves for the days their whole season depended on.

In the end, both are a measure of quality in different ways. The premier league tests how consistent you can be and for how long you can sustain your quality while the Champions League is all about raising yourself for a handful of very difficult games.

The league and the FA Cup and do well in the Champions League. We haven't won the FA Cup for years.

But just the league will do.

The Champion's League is now a tinpot after the farce on Saturday - lesser value than the League Cup. I think the Emirates Cup and 4th place should be our priorities

League is the one I want most, however a trophy is a trophy and would be happy with the FA Cup or Champions League too.

The League for me is the priority,I remember most of those 26 years we went without it and every time we win it is as good as 93.I think Sir Alex is desperate for another European Cup though, the two of them would be nice,City can have the league cup.

We are a long way off in Europe so the league has got to be the priority. Then the FA cup, my favourite cup comp. Its been a while.

The league. After losing it to city, re-establishing ourselves domestically is most important.

All about the league. Or you end up in the ridiculous position Liverpool and now Chelsea are in. I don't believe the winner of the CL particularly deserve it if they haven't mounted a title challenge, or can't even qualify for it the next year.

And yet we all know that if you reach the knock out stages, it's the league where players will get rest, unless the first leg result secures qualificiation.

That's because - if you're lucky - you're a lot more likely to play teams your second-string can beat in the league.

In the group stages of the CL against weaker European opposition Fergie consistently plays fringe players.

Yup, spot on! To be top dog in our own backyard will always be the most important, even though Europe will always be special..

The league has to be the priority. Surely it always is? It is the bread and butter. Winning the Champions League is great, but give me the league any day of the week.

This is something he really needs to stop. I can deal with it in the likes of the Carling Cup, but not group games in the CL.

We all seen this season what happened by not playing your best team, we paid the price.

I think that the league should be our priority like always. Premier league is more managable than CL when many things like luck, referees or injuries (example us vs Milan 2007) can eleminate a team. So, it would be stupidity if we will prioritise a tournament competition over the league where you have things under control.

On the other side, if I have to choose which competition I want United to win, every time I would choose Champions League. There you will be crowned Champions of Europe, club will get more money and more respect. Real Madrid generally is known as the biggest club in the world, only because it has 9 European Cups, not for it's league titles.
