You know what ?

Play like that every game this season and we'll be looking at 4 in a row.

Extremely proud of how we played and how we represented ourselves today, a better ref and we'd have been coming home with maximum points.

Loved it.

Frustrating at times - some of the decisions, and the fact that we really didn't have a cutting edge.

We were basically written off, but we were as good as them, and better for a lot of the game.

They got fucking lucky. Well pleased with how the lads played. They should be proud. And fucking pissed off at the ref.

We played very well, one of our best performances away against a big side for a long time.

Our midfield is FAR from lightweight when Fletch is playing.

Cracking display from us. Now to firmly reatatch my red specs, just remember were going to be stronger in both the squad and the way we play in the latter half of the season, where as Chelsea will lose Essien and Drogba to the african cup.

You can't fault the players, they gave it their all and were the better side. We were very unlucky. Good performance, bad result.

Definitely. Its always a complete pisser to lose a big game (or any game) - but the performance was sooooo much better than the capitulation against the Dippers.

Yes, I agree. I am not as disappointed as when we play badly and lose. Silver lining anyone?
Although if I am being completely honest, this is the first time in many a year we have played a game, where before the game I would be happy with a point.

Thought we played well too. Chelsea created fuck all.

My knee-jerk reaction is that we should have been able to put the match to rest, or at least secure a point before they got their fluke goal.

Honestly I think sooner subs would have been the difference for us. Giggs was awful most times and yet remained on the field for 83 minutes.

I think it was a fair result all in all, but agree with the OP, if we can deliver that level of intensity for the rest of the season (and I see no reason why we should not), we will be alright. Remember, we had Neville, Rio, Vidic, Hargreaves, Park, Nani & Berbatov all injured!

Good displays all over the park esp in defence and central mf which have both been problem areas. If we can get those ticking soon, then we should be off on one of our customary 20 match unbeaten runs.

Reminded me of the Arsenal game at the Emirates in the league last season. Good end to end stuff.

I feel similar about this game as I did after we lost to Arsenal last season. Disappointing result but plenty of positive things we can take from it. We had an amazing run of results after the Arsenal game last season, hopefully we'll do the same now.

We were absolutely brilliant today. I will walk in the office tomoz with my head held high. We totally and utterly did not deserve to lose.

We out played them and at the very least deserved a draw.

The performance today has reignited my belief that we can win the title this season.

Gotta say, that was our best performance against Chelsea in some years. Our midfield and defense solid throughout. Giggs, Valencia/Rooney were off form mind you, flashes of brilliance from the 3 but not consitient.

Either way, we out played them at Stamford Bridge, not many teams do that.

We were awesome today. Deserved more than a draw. We just got horribly unlucky.

I feel better about this than the draw against Sunderland. It was a great performance but Chelsea won it with their physical presence and height and a dodgy decision from the ref.

They deserved to win?

Nah.

We had more chances, more shots, more possession and generally we were better.

The better team doesn't always win in the big games obviously, I thought we were a bit lucky against Arsenal all in all, so I'm not down about the result.
