Pretty much spot on, but Scholes has to be in the top
3 for me. Ahead of Rooney anyway.

Wales is the hardest though. Gotta be someone better than Sunbed.
What about that barrel-shaped winger that printed his own banknotes, fuck I can't think of his name now.

I have never seen Duncan Edwards play but considering everyone who ever saw him said he was that good I'm putting him behind Charlton. Robbo's the best English player I have ever seen for United.

Scotland:

1: Law

2: Buchan

3: Crerand

I'd have Lou Macari and Fletcher over Brian McClair as well.

Wales

1. Giggs

2. Hughes

3. Billy Meredith(the Welsh Wizard. Has to be better than Blackmore even if he was 50 years before my time)

Ireland

1. Keane

2. Mcgrath

3. Irwin

Northern Ireland:

1: Best

2: Whiteside

3: Gregg

Billy Meredith was supposed to be a cracking player in his day and played for United for 14 years. Has to be better than Sunbed or Mickey Thomas. Well before anyone's time on here I would guess.

I think Lou Macari and Paddy Crerand were probably better shouts for third best Scottish player than McClair as well. Alot more debatable this one.

Your Meridth point is spot on I feel. As for Edwards, I was reluctant to put him in given how Scholes has been around long and did the unthinkable. Returned from retirement still ace.

On the subject of McClair I find him quite hard to evaluate but I would not have as high in a best of list of homegrown United players. He tends to get quite harshly appraised if you only watched him as a midfielder after Eric was signed. He's the first striker I ever saw score over 20 league goals for United(first since Best) and he was a good striker. McClair was also a player who Fergie praised for his intelligence and he was someone who could do a good tactical job for the team(e.g. man marking Koeman in the Cup winners cup final).

However, he was prone to go on long goal droughts and he did not have the strengths or variety to his game as a forward player. Hughes, Rooney and Andy Cole are all strikers who could go on droughts but all offered the team alot more than just goals. I'm not McClair only offered goals but not the same level of quality and other strengths as those players. I always rated Hughes as United's best striker and I doubt we would have won a league title if McClair had been maintained as one of the front two.

He was also not a particilarly good central midfielder and the obvious player who could have been improved upon from the first title winnning side of Fergie, hence the signing of Keane to be paired with Ince.

A good player but I don't think he was better than Paddy Crerand, Lou Macari or Darren Fletcher. Evidently, he's not in the same class as Dennis Law or Martin Buchan. Someone like David Herd or Arthur Albiston could also rival Brian McClair

As I am Scots and an Aberdonian to boot:-

Scotland

1)- Law

2)- Buchan

3)- Fletcher

The last one is hard, the 1st 2 almost pick themselves but there are several guys more than deserving of this slot.

1. Scholes
2. Beckham
3. Cole

Loved watching Cole with Yoke in that team so that's why he's in. Not too fussed if he wasn't the best technically or was our Darren Bent.

For Northern Ireland, I'm not knocking Gregg, but he was before even my time, so I would suggest Sammy McIlroy.

Thread fail, Ireland are not in the home nations. Just because loads of caftards are Irish doesn't excuse the inclusion.

I refuse to participate in this farcical survey/poll or whatever it is, disgrace.
