EDIT: why don't you pick the following deal up from Tesco: Handset price: £229.00 12 month contract: £35 a month 750 minutes Unlimited texts 1GB mobile data Comes to a total of £649.00. Shorter contract, more of everything, seems a no brainer to me. That's a pretty good deal, I know what I'm gonna ask for Christmas from my gf. |

Does anyone have any new apps that are good?
Not downloaded anything in ages tbh. Only the occasional freebee like Plock. Don't have to be games, just something to keep my amused, want something new on my phone. Also, for all those interested, Gamesloft are doing a free app every day of December. Today's free app is Driver, usually about 3 quid I think. May as well get it! |

Copied this from another forum - basically my problem...
"I'm having the same issue. I recently updated the firmware. I tried to restore from a backup, but only some of the apps synced. Drag and drop does not work. Same behavior. I already tried unchecking "sync apps," removing all the apps from the phone, then manually adding them back. When I did that, again only some of the apps were installed, and were spread across 9 mostly blank pages. I have already tried wiping the phone and setting it up as a new phone, and when syncing the same thing happens. Only some apps install" Any ideas? I updated to the new 4.0.2 or whatever it is and this has happened. My phone is not jailbroken... Currently I have 42 apps and only about 30 odd have loaded onto my phone. |

No it will recognise that you have already paid for them. I know this as the missus has my iTunes account on her iPhone as well as mine so any apps I get she gets too for free

OK so as I mentioned a page or so back, my phone has been playing up a little so I've decided to restore it and then just re-jailbreak and only add the few things I really want. However when I go to reset factory settings to enable me to install the backup I made a month or so ago it wants to install 4.2 firmware.
Is there any way of restoring to my backup and retaining 4.1 so I can use the same jailbreak again? |

cancelled my vodafone order, (it had been delayed due to stock shortage anyway) gonna go with tesco, i think the reason i didnt bother looking to the tesco thing was originally i was thinking you HAD to get the iphone insurance for £13 then when i realised i could get it for £6.99 or whatever i thought fuck it, ill go with vodafone, neglecting the fact tesco had an offer for £35. anyway, now i just have to wait for tesco to get them back in stock, they only have 32gb ones at my local extra store which is probably too much |

A question regarding Iphone 4 reception
Can someone answer the following question for me please?
Once I made the decision to buy an iPhone 4, I decided to skim through the pages in this thread, around page 65, people start mentioning a problem with reception due to the way the phone is held by the user, to which apple gave a BS explanation, has this problem been fixed now? |

![]() see the small gap at the bottom of the side panel.. if you hold the phone tightly in a way which closes that gap, the phone can drop a bar or two i tired it a few times just to see what happens and i went from 5 to 3 at the worst . not really an issue for me , affects the left handers more because of the palm covering that area. and a case/bumper solves it if needed |

At launch, the iPhone 4 had a dodgy proximity receptor which meant that it didn't always lock the screen when you held it up to your face. This caused your ear/cheek to press random buttons while you were on a call. I'm covinced this caused most of the dropped calls put down to the aerial problem. Thankfully, it was fixed with an OS update. |

Lads, my phone contract is up so looking for a bit of advice. I've narrowed my next phone down to a Iphone4 or Galaxy S but not sure which one to go for. The galaxy is only 1/3 of the price of the iphone so thats a plus but is it really worth the extra for the iphone? I've a ipod touch but i'm fearing it could be on its last legs as its 3 years old the battery life has gone to cock recently and the side volume button has stopped working, so maybe the I can kill two birds with one stone. Anyone know whats the music player like on the galaxy and is it much more hassle downloading podcasts? I take it the apps are much of a muchness with both.
