I thought they'd done it?

Although it's possible they realised it's a totally pointless gimmick that doesn't work all that well and gave up bothering?

Ahh, I just had a quick search and it's been released under Spire.

I got it off Cydia and installed it correctly but it says I need a proxy.

From what I've read, the proxy must be information from a 4S (?). My mum recently got one, so would it be fine to use her proxy without any problems?

Fucking annoying that the vibration on the phone have stopped working. I've tried to install a vibrating app and tap at the back of the phone where the fan is located, but it just stops working after a few seconds. I'm missing so many calls like you wouldnt believe.

Are you playing any high intensive games on it regularly?

Nah mate. I mainly use it to text, check mails and browse a bit on the web. Listen to about 20mins music per day. I don't think I make as much use of it as I could which is why I'm disappointed with battery life. I hope they release another attempt at a fix instead of just ignoring the issue.

The 4S is good. Siri is some load of shit though. Unreliable, slow, generally shite and useless.

I'm still running on 5.0 on my iPhone4. Should I update to 5.1?

So, I can get the iPhone 4 for free or the 4s for $200, which should I do? Basically, is the 4s really worth it?

Also, if I get the 4 I'd be able to get the iPhone 5 when it eventually comes out so take that in to consideration...

I'm having the same decision to make. I'm looking at getting to a nearly new Iphone 4 for 280 as there will no doubt be a new one in the summer why splash out on a 4s at this point.

Anyhow was wondering if answers a couple of questions about the phone. Here is the advert

IPhone 4 16GB (White) in Dunfermline, Fife | Apple iPhone for Sale | Gumtree.com

Does it sound right that it is sim free but locked to Orange? Also what is the best way to unlock them is it easy enough for someone not bad with computers or simpler and cheap to do it from one of these websites? Does IOS5 complicate things?

My iPhone 3GS stopped charging a few months ago and I've just paid £126 for a repair/replacement handset with Apple.

I've just realised though that a year ago I bought a replacement back service from one of the many repair websites online which, I assume, would void my warranty as they completely disassemble your iPhone to put the back on. Since the phone is 36 months old now though the warranty is out, will the fact it has a non-Apple back put on by non-Apple technicians void the service I just paid for?

Surely the fact it's £126 should mean it's a simple replacement that I have just paid for?

Is the 4/4S worth the 200 extra quid than the 3GS?

The 4 certainly is! It's a massive step up from the 3S. The premium paid on the 4S compared to the 4 is debatably worth it though.

I usually have a very good signal in my house but for some reason I just keep getting 'no service' and 'searching' now. When I restart my phone, it goes to one bar but it doesn't actually work, can't sent a text or use the internet, then it goes back to no service. Any ideas why this is happening?

New Report Claims Next iPhone Not Coming Until September or October | TechnoBuffalo

If that article holds true its bound to piss a lot of people off. It makes sense though considering the 4S was only launched a few months ago to stick to the yearly cycle. I was playing around with my iPhone 4 last night and decided to go and jailbreak and put siri on it, works fantastically well. There are things on the iPhone that I do miss apps like instagram and such but it looks like Mountain Lion is going to bring heavy iOS integration into the ecosystem to how much longer I will be on WP7 Im not sure, thank fuck I bought a cheap one and decided not to sell my iPhone! The thing is with Mountain Lion the apple ecosystem will pretty much work effortlessly now and being a big apple fan (or fanboy as some say) then it would make sense to go back to the iPhone.

Do Apple do any trade-in bollocks to get the new one when it comes out?

Have a 4S at the moment. Am doing some development work on it, won't be finished until after the new one is released I imagine, so it'd be nice to trade it in with a few quid to buy the new one. It's pay as you go! Should have just went billpay for the free upgrade I suppose. You live and learn.

Has there been any suggestion as to what kind of things we might see with the 5?

Any chance of a revolutionised OS?

I'm kinda glad tbh. Also I've not looked at jailbreak shizzle for ages, been on stock iOS 5.01 for months. What's the best way to get Siri if I decide to do so?

Its pretty easy, you just download "spire" from cydia to get the Siri GUI on the iPhone, then what you need is a proxy server to connect to and this is where problems can arise. There are plenty of free proxy servers around but they can only take limited amounts of people and you can get kicked off the server easily when they overload making it frustrating however you can pay a small one time fee to get onto a private server, I payed £10 from icrakr.com and have not had a single problem, plus they give you a choice of about 15-20 servers when you pay so if one does happen to go down there are plenty others to pick from

Ah, bugger that. I wouldn't wanna pay for a proxy, and I doubt any of the free ones are that legit.

Was thinking of rejailbreaking though regardless. Dunno if I can be arsed.

The free ones work, just not well and you have to be pretty lucky to get onto the proxy server in the first place.

Keep in mind though that while it works for some it may not always work out the same way for others, jailbreaking always runs the risk of bricking a phone no matter what method you use and I used jailbreak me a long time ago so who knows if it works as well then as it should do now
