RedNomes Photography Thread
Just recently purchased a digital camera, and have been practising using it with some holiday pictures from Wales. Thought I'd start a photography thread where I will add my better pictures to it and hopefully others can share their photos also.
I've changed all sizes to 800x600, a good size I think for a web site. Here are a few to get it started: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I was happy with the first one too. Got a bit carried away with the sunset shots, may post some more in a bit. Got a bit of lens flair on some of the best ones which was a shame and I'm not sure yet how to remove it in photoshop. |

Is that Newcastle? Looks cool, never been there
What lens and accessories do you have for the D80 Marching? I've borrowed from work this weekend a D80, 55-200mm VR, 60mm Macro and and SB800 flashlight |

It's the Quayside area of Toon that's had a fortune invested in it....used to be old derelict warehouses less than 15 years ago. Just got the 135mm lense it came with at the moment....so feel free to share around the borrowed stuff

Here are some of my pictures. Used a Canon Ixus 4 megapixel camera which just broke. I'm thinking of buying a Nikon D80 as soon as I get the money. Would love to learn more about photography it's one of my favorite hobbies. I've only used point and shoot cameras so far. RedNome are you happy with your D80? It has earned some great reviews.
Stockholm ![]() Same view, just a bit later in the evening. ![]() Even though the camera had a lot of problems with purple fringing for example it could take some pretty nice macro shots. ![]() My computer screen broke was reduced to a black screen with one solid blue line stretching from top to bottom so I played around with long exposure and I think some of the photos came out really nice.

I don't own a D80, I am using a Samsung Digimax i6, it's Geebs and Marching using the D80.
But from the pictures they have posted I would say it's a pretty fine bit of kit. |

But, there is still an automatic setting which you can use till you get used to your camera. If you dont know manual photography, pick up a book or take a course because you will get so much more out of it if you know about shutter speeds, aperture etc. I'm still learning myself because i've never taken any official courses or training in it but its more satisfying when you set it yourself oh and i don't own the D80 unfortunately..i just borrowed it from work. I own a D50 which although older still takes a decent pic |

I think I'll pick up a book and go take some trial and error photos when the time arrives. Seems like a lot of fun to play around with all those options to get the best picture, rather than just pressing a button. Great thread btw. |
