Not at all matey. It's just short for my nickname i use in a photography forum. Why would anyone googling photos to put on here and claim theirs. Only spastics do that.

This isn't my picture but i may attempt to take one similar when the Schueberfouer festival starts here on the 23rd on something like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freak_Out_(ride) as all the riders are facing each other, so it could work, obviously not with an slr though...

Anyway here it is, the best picture i've ever seen, and quite risky too...

Those photos of Angkor Wat brings back memories 032 Devil! Unfortunately, I went there about 5 years ago, before I even owned a digital camera. All I have are rapidly deteriotating prints

Anyway, here are some more shots...

Why is that risky? And it is a very easy photo to take with an SLR film camera. Presumably also with a digital.

Easy or not Wibble it's also about the moment captured aswell as the effect used to create it, and in this regard to this I would say that this is an excellent picture, I like alot.

Because they were balancing $1000 worth of equipment on the side of this ride that's spinning around on top of some building i believe. One mistake and that's $1000 down the drain. To get the lady and boy in front in focus to such a degree that on the big version you can see the ladies earring takes some skill. Plus there's not much lighting so a stable platform for the shot is essential, and those things go up and down too.

That isn't risky. Some of mine were taken with $8,000 worth of gear and taken from 50m below the surface and I wouldn't call that risky.

As for the shot, it is a fairly standard idea, photographing something moving at the same speed as yourself so that the background blurs, that many photography lecturers teach their students as a cheap and easy way of getting a good effect. Not that I didn't like the photo.

The standard of photos in here is great. However, I like but don't love most of the photos in this thread (including my own), too many postcard imitations.

I really love photos that demonstrate people or an event or an emotion or all of the above. Preferably in black or white since even a landscape can be emotional in black and white. Feck knows why.

Not mine I hasten to add.

Just go for it. I once got punched by a little old lady in Bolivia for this attitude mind. And in some cultures you really shoud ask first. I'll try to find and scan some of my black and white stuff from South America.

I'll dig up some of mine later. I never got the benefit of a strobe though - the chap with a strobe on my trip decided to drown his entire kit even though he knew his case was leaking. In several places.

I think he was protesting against the fact that we were doing too many wreck dives.

We should have a theme each week or something, to take a photo of a particular subject then come back and review each others and the best gets to gloat or something... Like hobo's could be the theme for the on coming week and stuff like that.

I was lucky enough to dive there just after the Israeli's pulled out. Brilliant diving and feck all tourists. I lived in a tent on the sand where the Sheraton now is.

These were from Sharm as well I think.
