Market taking a hammering right now, was on 61k profit around 2 hours ago, come back and it's down to 41. Doesn't really matter as I'm long on most of the positions but never good to see

The difference between individuals' holdings is fascinating, even though it seems to be a common phenomenon. The clustering at different levels.

There is clear gap at the top, but the difference between 5th and 6th is most fascinating. However, this is still meaningless as different people will have different strategies taking into consideration the time-frame.

Taking all the money out of the market in the beginning of the day, seems to have worked out for me. I was going to come back and invest, but i just slept off.

Americans have a huge advantage. Its not easy making money in day trading in any case. Add alien country and its impossible.

60k profit slide to 23k in less than 24 hours, that's on a significantly diversified portfolio as well. Can't even account for the loss, not a good day

Could be worse. I decided to buy a stock just as it plummeted. Back on the rise now though but can't see me getting my money back on it.

I've taken a hammering, I was up on every stock now I'm down on every stock. Lost 70K.

Teeby has dropped from 1st to 20th, he's lost over 150K I think.

Teeby sold his Bank of America and Microsoft holdings and used all the borrowed cash he got from that to buy more Hyperdynamics. It's gone down another 5 cents/share and 3 cents/share since he did that. He's currently ranked 43rd.

Wow. I'm guessing he was expecting them to go back up rather than plummet further?

I already had shares in HDY from last week, I might do the same when they reach a lower price.

There's a $1 minimum stock price limit but it is an idea to buy some when the price gets a bit lower.

On the bright side you're in good stead to win the Lehmann Brothers award you were talking about a few pages back.

Please don't ban me

Don't worry, I'll end up ahead of you....

At the top of the table, Zynga's static price has allowed the guy with everything in Expedia and LinkedIn to pass the guy with everything in Zynga.

Indeed so, the most important virtue regard the stock exchange is patience - if you are confident in your decisions then don't pull your money out at the first sign of trouble or indeed deep trouble, let it turn around.

Can't believe it. For some stupid reason I sold the HDY shares I did buy shortly before they rose so much. What a turnaround.

I did find some other stocks that fared me well but once again I ruined the decent work I did by messing with the HDY again and kept losing more money..
