I caught a huge bastard of a moth the other day. Must've been about between 1 and a half/ 2 inches long. When it was walking on the paper that I used to cover the glass you could actually feel the weight of its footsteps. Scared the crap out of me when I saw it fly in.

No, they are quite common.

Although I had never seen one til I moved out of the city.

They are about the size of an adult's finger.
