Trivia for Tony Dorigo (great find, redspoonz )

He was repeatedly bombarded with deliveries of Doritos to his house by his former team-mate and infamous changing room prankster Lucas Radebe, who thought 'Dorigo' sounds like 'Dorito'.

He is now running a lifestyle management company called "The 1 Club" for footballers. He said: "Talk about cars, plasma TVs and watches, they'll know what you mean. Talk about cleaning and housework - they wont have a clue!"

Asprilla left Parma for Newcastle United for 6.7 million pounds in 1995 where he played for three seasons and was hot one minute and cold the next. There were problems off the field too. He famously scored a hat-trick for Newcastle against Barcelona in an unforgettable 1997 Champions League game at St James' Park, which ended in a 3-2 win for Newcastle. This would be the high point in his time playing for the Magpies, marking the tail end of The Entertainers era of the club but making him a cult hero on Tyneside.

Asprilla had to be officially working as a construction worker to gain a visa into Italy, where he rejoined Parma in 1998, scoring the goal that brought Milans "Invincible" run to an end. His career then wound down from that point, playing for various clubs in Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Colombia. He was known by his supporters in his home country as The Octopus for his uniquely flexible and fluid style. To everyone else he was 'Tino', or '2 goal Tino', as his goals usually came in twos.
thats not true, he is just know has "el tino"

# 32741 Paul Stewart

Another inspired Liverpool signing from the Souness era. Plagued by injury, Stewart only played 32 times (scoring 1 goal) for Poo during his four year spell at the club. According to wikipedia...

"PAUL STEWART WAS THE SHITTEST PLAYER TO EVER WEAR THE RED SHIRT OF LIVERPOOL"

#-340 Stuart Barlow

Plucked by Everton from Business Houses League football with Sherwood Park, Barlow was a kind of scouse Mark Robins (but not as good). Claims to have scored a 35 yarder against Ipswich one time.

So obscure, the most interesting fact about him comes from within my own brain: my headmaster at secondary school was his uncle.

Guy Whittingham
I played football with him in the Army in 1988.Fcuk me he was quick, and scored goals for fun.

I believe his signing details for Portsmouth was that they paid something like £400 to buy him out the Army and gave him a £50k house.
Something along those lines anyway.

# 222222.2 Scott Sellars

Graced the top flight in the nineties with Blackburn, Leeds, Newcastle and Bolton. Voted 91st in the best ever 100 Leeds players, Sellars had a left foot so cultured it spoke a dozen languages.

I've just read that he once set up 2 goals for Andy Cole as Newcastle beat Liverpool 3-0 in 1994 - so he can be forgiven for the Leeds thing.

I've got his autograph somewhere and I might put it on e-bay if anyone's interested.

Hamish McAlpine - Dundee United legend. According to their stats he scored 3 times in his career..

Despite his heroics, he still looks like a dodgy character from a 70's home-made porno

Way off the mark , he lives in a sleepy area near me with his school teacher mrs , still playing for bournemouth.
Never rated him at spurs but down at bournemouth you can see why he played for england etc. classy for the 4th division !

Fact no2 :

Team mates affectionately nicknamed barlow "jigsaw" , because as soon as he was in the box he fell to pieces.

I live in Bournemouth and see him out on the town now and then. He's a tall bugger. Also about a year ago I saw him in a nightlub with Ramon Vega.

Never heard any stories about him and recreational drugs though (another ex-spurs player who i'll call Sheddy Terringham on the other hand..)
