Adjusting to English football
There's been a lot of talk over the last few years over the success of players to adapt, or the failure of players to adapt, to the Premiership and England in general.
Success stories include Fernando Torres, Berbatov, Sagna and loads more. Famous failures such as Shevchenko, (half of Chelsea's signings!!), and others there as well. So, my question is, what do you think are the defining factors in players adjusting to the league? Age? Position? Speed? Club they play for? What league they were in previously? I think age is a big factor. Young players find it easier to develop than the old established players. What do people reckon? |

Applying your talents in a new environment is always a challenge no matter where the new location is. Its just that adjusting is harder when the standard of football leapsfrogs a few notches to what you've been used to OR your new league is played in a manner that exposes your potential weaknesses.
