Adriano

Does anyone know what the latest is with him?

The last I heard was that he was going on loan to Sao Paulo, from Inter, in order to sort out his problems and get into shape. Just wandered if he has done that, and how he's getting on in Brazil?

Also, weren't City and some other English teams (the names of whom escape me) interested in January, and are they still interested?

Personally, I hope he can get it back together, as I hate to see such a talent go to waste, I mean, you can say what you like about him off the field, but on it, his record at Inter speaks for itself (I think it's something like 1 goal per every 2 games, or something similarly ridiculous)

Cheers.

I hear he's doing allright in Brazil, could be back in Italy for Fiorentina next season....

An unstoppable player when he's on form, hopefully him and ronaldinho get back to their best soon.

Was brilliant on Pro Evo 6 too.

West Ham were supposedely close in sealing a loan deal for him last January: Inter apparently agreed, but Adriano rejected it.

Comes from a long line of Brazilian player who allow the money, and affluent lifestyle, to turn their head. I remember reading at the time that he has some rather poor agents, who do nothing to keep a level head on him. Also there were almost constant rumours about his partying with a stream of "ladies of ill-repute", during the World Cup 2006, which if true, are disgraceful. Hopefully he can get back to where he was, but even before all this he was very hot and cold, he could be amazing for a few weeks, and then pretty anonymous for a few. Perhaps this will be the kick up the arse he needs to get his career back on track, he's still pretty young yet.

Brilliant player when he wants to be.

I've seen a few Sao Poalo games recently, he's still quite fat - thought he'd be sorted by now, tbh.

Scored an absolutely ridiculous hand ball goal the other week.

He's doing alrite in Brazil.

Scoring a fair amount of goals.

Talking about returning to Serie A, incidentally I thought he played his best football when on loan to Fiorentina a couple of seasons ago.

He did not do too bad also when he was with Parma.

Here it is if you're arsed. I mean, how can the ref not see that? Ridiculous goal

Hes well overated. Dont want him anywhere near OT. Fat, lazy and trouble mixed in with some overated talent.

One of my favourite players outside United. Hope he gets back to his best but I don't suppose he will

What is it with people on this forum and, the instant you mention a player outside United, it is turned into a 'I don't want him at United', or a 'I do want him at United' thread?? Can't we just talk about other players without the transfer muppets swooping?

Anyway, thanks for the update. It's good to hear that he's doing well in Brazil. He's a player I very much enjoy watching, his sheer brute strength, and great pace (as well as his natural Brazilian skills) are a joy to behold. And, as I said earlier, I hate to see such talent go to waste.

Once again, thanks for the updates.

It's only one out of ten posts. Hardly overrunning the thread Sam.

His loan deal was only until the end of this season and as far as I'm aware Inter want him back. However he still has got his problems, he got suspended about 2 months ago for headbutting an opponent which could have got him banned (at least in Brazil) until the end of next season, which has not endeared him to the Sao Paulo hierarchy.

Would have been almost as bad as Rossi's loan to Newcastle.

To be fair the ref had a poor view, and from distance and at full speed, it looked like it came off his head.

He really looks fat.

Still he was immense at times. Fergie could sort his attitude out.

Adriano at his best...

As I say, a joy to behold. It's just a shame he has so many problems off the field.

Wasn't it the death of his father that fucked things up for him?

Well I find it worse and a show of the player's character that he would even act as if he scored a good goal knowing it was gained by an illegal act. Then again, most will do that.

He is a waste of space and an Alcoholic. He has been done for drink driving already since his return to Brazil when he was supposed to be cleaning his act up and he should have recieved a years ban for headbutting an opponent Duncan Ferguson style but seem as money talks in Brazil he got away with a 2 game ban. Inter Milan got very worried when they heard he had his own bar built into his house that had very frequent parties. Career is pretty much down the tubes.

yeah, apparently he and his dad were very close and his death led him to drinking and partying...

I wonder how many footballers don't have a bar built in their own house though.
