Whoever this guy is who's "managing" Senegal, he should never have been allowed a job stacking shelves in Tesco's let alone entrusted with one of the most talented squads in Africa.

Go with domestic coaches who are generally way out of their depth or bring in a mercenary foreigner who is either there for the money or doesn't have any grasp of the players/culture/mentality/playing style. Always seems to be a big problem to me and half the reason extremely talented African sides look disjointed and even naive at World Cups. |

This has to be the least interesting ACoN in ages, mainly because of the lack of big names. No Nigeria, Cameroon and Egypt is truly shocking when you have the likes of Botswana and Niger in there.

But no, don't think there are any you should bother paying attention too. I used to enjoy watching the CAF CL, not so much anymore. And yes, I found it quite sad when Egypt recently fired Shehata and hired Bradley. One of the things I liked most about them was that they were succeeding with an Egyptian coach. |

Thanks to a gift from Ivory Coast and true grit against Burkina Faso our boys (Sudan) squeezed themselves ahead of Angola and made it to the second round. Great accomplishment given our team are the only side in the tournament with no players in Europe..

Quarter-finals
Zambia v Sudan 3-0 I haven't seen the match but i've heard it was easy win for Zambia. Ivory Coast v Equatorial Guinea 3-0 Ivory Coast are looking very good this time, they've conceded still not a single goal. Gabon v Mali 1-1 AET, 4-5 Pens It's a shame Gabon have lost against Mali because one host in the sem-final would have been nice and Mali are actually a poor side. Ghana v Tunisia 2-1 AET Massive tunisian goalkeeping mistake for the 2nd Ghana goal but all in all it was a deserved win for Ghana. Semi-finals Zambia v Ghana It will be close contest no doubt.........i can see a win for Zambia. Mali v Ivory Coast Ivory Coast should easily beat Mali. |

FT.
1 - 0 Ivory Coast. Not that convincing though. With the players they have Ivory Coast should be dominating this tournament. They have some world class talent. |
