Wow. That's disappointing but not surprising. They need to stop sacking the manager eventually and get rid of the player power.

Inevitable.

And so Terry, Drogba, Lampard etc. see off another manager.

Not surprising
But shows that the players still 'run' Chelsea, they have too much power

The likes of Lampard and Terry need to go really

Benitez in there by the next game?

Possibly. He'll most likely be there by the weekend anyway.

No idea why he wasn't sacked when Mother Guus was still available.

Shame really

As I think he could have built something good there if given time, he was trying to get Mourinho's team and players to play in a style that didn't suit them, he needed time to properly put his own stamp on the team to enable them to play how he wanted, was probably a mistake to try and change too much too quickly.

14m to Porto. Big payoff for AvB.

All for 8 months.
Somewhere in Paris, Carlo has a laugh.

A joke of a club. AVB will go on to prove them wrong.

Pretty fucking obvious some of the players weren't giving their all for him, I'd imagine their jobs are safe.

BREAKING NEWS
Here's the full Chelsea statement:

"Andre Villa-Boas has parted company with Chelsea Football Club today.

"The board would like to record our gratitude for his work and express our disappointment that the relationship has ended so early.

"Unfortunately the results and performances of the team have not been good enough and were showing no signs of improving at a key time in the season.

"The club is still competing in the latter stages of the Uefa Champions League and the FA Cup, as well as challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League, and we aim to remain as competitive as possible on all fronts.

"With that in mind we felt our only option was to make a change at this time.

"With immediate effect Roberto Di Matteo has been appointed first team coach on an interim basis until the end of the season."

So it's Roberto Di Matteo - sacked from West Brom a year ago - who will take charge at Chelsea for the rest of the season. Remarkable.

Who would be Chelsea's manager, eh? The same old story again at that club. No patience, no trust and no long term plan. They can keep changing the manager but it's their player power that needs to be brought under control.

I wonder who's brave enough to step into the firing line next?
