Yeah his interview with Geoff Shreeves was like the ramblings of a mad man. Even Shreeves had to cut him off (I know Sky were short for time). Probably realises if he doesn't get 4th he's off in the summer.

Same goes for the people covering the match, interrupting him and going "I'm sorry André, that's it, we're a bit pressed for time", or smth.

He didn't seem to appreciate being cut short.

Can't imagine Sky'd have the balls to cut Fergie off mid-rant.

In fairness Shreeves has probably saved him from a ban if "I think Howard was compensating for something...." was an indication of where the rest of his rant was going.

I really don't like the way he talks. I like him at times as he's clearly a knowledgeable man when it comes to his football, however he always appears bitter whenever things don't go well for his team, which has been quite often lately.

Really thought he'd be a likeable and entertaining character but he's just been the complete opposite.

Did someone else see his interview on MOTD after the match yesterday?

after every question the answer was "Did you ask Sir Alex the same?" or "In your opinion". If he cant answer the bloody questions then just send out Di Matteo and he will get the job done. Same goes for Mancini, but then again that club is full of cocks.

I thought exactly the same. But he's such a boring guy.

I personally think he's out of his depth at Chelsea and I can't see him being at Stamford Bridge next season, not a chance.

I think they're quite a different kettle of fish. Mancini seems alright, he's only tainted by the club that he's at. In his post match interviews I think he's normally quite modest in victory and generous to opponents as well.

In contrast, AVB comes across as a whiner who's been studying Mourinho's dismissive tactics but doesn't have the clout or results to back up that kind of nonchalant arrogance. Thought the BBC interviewer handled it really well on Saturday, just really bluntly 'yes that's my opinion...yes we've already interviewed Sir Alex...' etc. etc.

It must be a new experience for him. I think that he has known nothing but success up until Chelski. Now the plebs are questioning him when things aren't going so well.

Agreed. He tries to brush it off by 'playing games' with the media and being offhand with them, the same way Fergie or Mourinho are if they don't like the questioning. The difference being that Fergie and Mourinho both have the success under their belts to justify that kind of approach, whereas AVB has never managed a club at this level before or experienced this kind of competition.

As a manager they need to give him time to try and create something there, but he's a whiney individual who isn't particularly likable, not a great asset for the Premier League so far.

So, past the halfway mark in his first(and probably last) season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

It's clear that he's tried to implement a style of football that clearly doesn't suit his ageing squad. He doesn't have the pace and intelligence at the back, nor the intensity of the frontline for his high-pressure game, and his midfielders are too docile to keep possession very well. They play a slow tempo game with little creativity aside from the brilliant Mata and the occasional glimpse from Sturridge.

If they want him as their man, Chelsea should back him to renew the squad. Players like Terry, Drogba and Lampard need shipping out, they're for a different approach. He needs a new striker, probably a new wide man, allowing Mata into an attacking midfielder role, and they need two new CBs plus probably a full back.

He's wisely backtracked from his early season approach, but Chelsea still appear a very lacklustre outfit at times. I don't think he's done a tremendous job, but then again there were serious issues that needs more time than one season to rectify.

And Big Man JT has once again managed to fuck up his club by being the centre of attention for all the wrong reasons, which is not helping things.

It's clear that he doesn't handle setbacks and the press very well, which is a problem at Chelsea and in England.

He should do a Football Manager style overhaul and sell almost his entire squad and buy Mads Jorgensen and Kennedy Bakircioglü.

You should ship out Lampard, Terry and Drogba and get on with building a new team.

I'd probably hang on to Lampard for a while yet as a back up and to have his experience around.

Yup. He does not seem to know when to stop. And he always starts off his sentence in a normal tone, and gradually his tone lowers until all you hear is a really deep burping-type of tone

So who will Chelsea have left as first team players? Mata, Sturridge, Essien, Ramires, Luiz, Ivanovic and Cole by the sounds of it. That's not even close to a squad - I think they're going to need a good few transfer windows to rebuild after the necessary clear out, and it's going to cost a tonne of cash.

You need another 10 players with your proposed exit list surely? That's a lot of players to be buying in a couple of windows.

Surely what Chelsea really need is a period of austerity, Brian? If they spend heavily in a crisis they'll be rated as unreliable.

Bosingwa's contract is running out so it is likely he is off so that is a right back to add to the list. Plus we will be wanting our all-encompassing midfielder we didn't get last summer plus a winger as well.

That is five players I am sure we will be after in the summer or at least need to be, plus we can debate additional buys such as another central defender and a left back bringing us to seven.
I'm not doubting it is possible to buy so many players in such a short time, I am questioning whether Chelsea have the money to be able to buy players of sufficient quality. If each of those ten players costs an average of £15-20m... and it seems that's cheap for good quality players nowadays.
