He's a dick, pure and simple. Fucking irritating antics on the pitch, incredibly childish behaviour off it. Plus he's unusually stupid. What a guy.

He is a talent, but just then, up against it, he had a moody shocker and wouldn't do what Mancini asked of him; but he's a dick for shouting at him and not subbing him. Special mention to Yaya Toure who had no desire to be on that pitch.

I also thinks he's childish and it's difficult to dismiss his shortcoming's but I will give the young man the benefit to adapt to his new situation. Something tells me that in the future he could maybe be a nice character, with a little bit of life experience and guidance from wise senior friends. |

I been working with worse characters then him. I'm glad that Mancini had take him under his wings. He has already improved his temper and I have no doubt that more time will help him even further in his development to a nice young man. You don't have to be the sharpest knife in the box to be a good person. He seems to have a nice heart and that, together with his talent, can help him a long way.

Gee Male, you misinterpreted the tone of my post. I'm not a fanboi of Balotelli. I wasn't saying MENTAL in an awed way. I was using it fairly literally. The guy is a headcase.

Was very impressed with him tonight, both in terms of quality as well as temperament. Not much he could do after the red card and Mancini's ultra defensive substitutions, but he still manfully held the line and did as much as he could. He is maturing quickly.

There's no doubt that he comes across as very immature and childish but I get the impression that he has good intentions most of the time. All the stories you hear about him make him seem like a nutter and a bit thick but not necessarily a dick. He's not, to my knowledge, getting into fights, bottling people or shagging his team mates other half etc. That said I don't find him nearly as amusing as everyone else seems to. A bit annoying but I wouldn't say he is a dick, pure and simple.

It was a typical Balotelli performance really - great goal but arrogance and petulance let him down. |

Maybe, but how would you describe it? Level at 1-1 away to a title rival, he effectively threw in the towel when City went to one up front and did nothing to help his team. Even when they had a period of keeping possession and preventing Chelsea from going forward, he ended it with a stupid shot from 35 yards straight at Cech which put them on the back foot again.
If not petulant or arrogant, how would you describe his attitude in the second half tonight? |

We need players like Balotelli in the game, it gives all the miserable fuckers in the world something to moan and whine about. Hope he is even more petulant and arrogant in coming games so the whining cunts and moaning fucktards can really get themselves into a spastic lather.

Aye, he looked shattered and disinterested all game. Is the only ever-present in the City team outside of Hart I think so it's not surprising he doesn't look sharp but I can't imagine trying to support a player who shows such a complete lack of commitment.

He's just a young kid who is being thrown in to the spot light doing the things that most kids his age do. Like others have said, he isn't doing malicious or bad-hearted things, he's basically just being immature.
I'm essentially the same age as him, I can't imagine how I would handle myself if most everything I did was thrown in to the spot light. He's got to have some room for fun, just because he is a professional athlete doesn't mean he can't do those things assuming they don't affect his play. Thus far they don't seem to be doing that. |

Are we supposed to like a guy who is plainly one of the biggest bell-ends playing in the league while he is playing and scoring goals for one of our biggest rivals? Strange. |

A few of points:
1) He is 21 yrs old. Cant blame him for having some fun. What would any of us be like if we were 21 again and with buckets of dosh in our pocket. 2) We think of footballers are bland full of insipid comments etc. Now we have a person who is willing to express himself, foolishly or otherwise we make him out to be some demon. 3) Like De Gea, I think he has been unfairly singled out by the press -- the former as a dodgy keeper and Balotelli as a looney. Its not like he is doing a Tevez or something more vile. |

Spot on! His actions talk's for itself. Only a scared referee saved him from two yellow cards.
Balotelli did a great first half. His goal was a sign of a class player. He's strong in tight situations and protect the ball well. Good vision and knows when to pass his teammates. He's a huge talent and he have all the tools to become world class. His physique is similar to Drogba. Time and experience will turn him into an ace. And compared to a young Rooney and other hot headed characters he looks calm and sometimes matured. Young and sometimes stupid? Yes. A dickhead without sense? Not what I can see. Perspective. |

with Italy's strikers being injured, the national team will depend on him for Euro 2012.
will be interesting to see how he performs in the tourny. yes. he is a very talented player whatever his attitude. |
