BBC Sport - not a pretty site

Yuck. Apart from the actual content of the headlines, that is a mess

It's hideous. It looks like they've regressed to the web designs of 1999.

It's horrible, looks like it was designed by a first year high school kid

The usual "its the worst thing ever" reaction and then we'll all forget what the old one looked like in a few months.

Functionality-wise it got a lot better, but the design isnt great (too much white, too much yellow and it looks a bit unstructured). But in two weeks noone will care.

I think it looks a bit tacky to be honset. It doesn't look anywhere near as clean or professional as the old layout did...

Looks a little bit cheap to be honest, surely they could of employed someone to create something that looks good.

Articles have switched to the left side, but my brain was so instinctively tuned to looking on the other side. Am I supposed to just change that? Look slightly to the left now? What is this world coming to?

Technically it's lot more cleaner. But I like to have border lines between columns to give it a bit of structure, and the too much white(and yellow) will wake up the women in many homes when men browse that site at night.

Formula 1 next to football?

Madness.

It looks awful though. Like something designed by the work experience boy as a mock up.

It's shite. The old site was far better.

Why do sites feel like they have to gloss everything up nowadays. Keep it simple, it works pretty well for google, wikipedia etc.

It's almost as crap as posting a thread about something that already has a thread somewhere else with more posts in it.

It's cluttered, the little inserts in the articles such as the videos and inserted quotes don't even fall in line with the main article text.

TBF Im guessing that was the idea behind this overhaul, but I think its too simple. The main problem I have with it is that there isnt clear enough boundries between content. What I will say is that its very quick, they have stripped out most of the graphics, it almost looks like a text only version of a site.

To be honest, I was dreading the change and while I will agree the aesthetics are ugly as sin, there are some changes that have actually improved the site too. If it were in red it would be a different story, the only complaint I have is that the yellow is terrible.

They also appear to have a section dedicated to the thoughts of Darron Gibson. Which shows they do read my suggestions.
