Calm down there, mate. I hope that isn't overall your top 3 midfielders in the league? Parker isn't up there for me, though he has been this season. It's obviously not your top 3 for this season as Wilshere has barely been involved.

Modric and Yaya Toure.

2 of the 4 players we should have signed when we had the chance.

It was my ranking of the players you listed in your post. Modric is clearly the best cm in the league. After him are a few players, such as Toure and Carrick, then Wilshire. Then more players between Wilshire and Parker.

I'm not sure Carrick is the easiest player to get for some football fans. I wouldn't go as far as Ash_G; Busquets and Alonso are clearly better than Carrick imo and Real's midfield as a whole is better than Carrick+one other. But Carrick is a superb player, a smart dm, who does a lot that isn't immediately obvious. Some of our fans didn't really appreciate him when he was down in London either.

Those two a Newcastle have done a decent job of seeing them into 5th, when that side should be in a relegation battle.

Well, like, technically, we should have signed all of them...if you're going to look at it like that.

It's impossible. Xavi and Zidane are up there with Scholes, but being an outright better footballer than Scholes? I can't see it, especially not Wilshere.
No I didn't mean better than Scholes, he looks the best of the new generation. Cleverley, based on his few appearances (more than his reserve performances) is catching up fast though (on Wilshere I mean).
