The book extract Quiz - #1

Righto, I have a copy of "Harrys Game" here to give away, an autobiography of Harry Gregg, the former Manchester United goalkeeper

To be in with a chance of winning, pm your answers to me. First person with all correct answers will win and I will dispatch the book asap (as soon as i can be arsed to go and buy a big padded envelope)

Q1. Harry Gregg was once the world’s most expensive goalkeeper when he joined Manchester United. How much was the fee?

Q2. How much did Harry earn in wages per week on his first professional contract?

Q3. From the following extract, who was Harry sharing a room with?

Quote:
Eventually, on my way to the room I heard Shay and Johnny laughing and I decided it was payback time. I repeatedly pushed at the wooden panel on their door; its creaking was accompanied by my muffled threats to get the two of them. Not happy with their frantic calls for me to piss off, I decided to give the door handle a kick. I’d obviously had a few glasses of sherry too many, though, and I missed the handle and my foot went through the door. I was jammed in the door as Shay and Johnny shouted about ringing for help and tried to make a barrier with the wardrobe. Then things went from bad to worse. In my effort to free my leg, the entire door pulled free, along with the door frame and part of the wall. I quickly left the scene of the crime and returned to the room I was sharing with..?

Q4. Read the following extract. Which team was Harry playing for?

Quote:
When I reached the dressing room, the doctor prescribed an injection of morphine to ease the pain and act as a sedative. Everyone returned to watch the game and I lay there in a semi-conscious. Then Peter Doherty arrived. Unaware that I was heavily under the influence, he asked if I was ready to go. I was in cloud cuckoo land and, assuming he meant ready to go to hospital, I said yes. I rose gingerly to my feet and floated down the tunnel after Peter.
The boss returned to his seat on the bench and, on automatic pilot, I wandered back to my position. Our left-back, Ronnie Walker, had deputized for me and when he saw this zombie he returned to his original position with a daft grin on his face. When Jack Hodgson noticed me he was horrified. He raced around the perimeter of the pitch to try and persuade me to come off and go to hospital. I had no intention of coming off now, in fact, thanks to the jab, I’d never been happier. Jack was a nervous wreck as I chain smoked for the rest of the match. A few drags was the only way I could stop myself from dozing off

I think it's a brilliant question. You have to work out who Shay and Johnny are and then you'll get a rough idea when this scene happened and find out who was his roommate at that time. Very hard questions though, I've given up

It only lets me get as far as knowing which roommate of his we are NOT talking about.

It's a toss up across the whole squad minus 3 players!
