Brits abroad
why do British players not really "cut the mustard" when they move abroad??
just recently i was trying to think of a British player who it could be said was "successful" when they moved to a team on the continent. gazza i think was a hit....not that he won anything but in the fact that even the miserable italiens would have to admit that he could really play football. any other players come to mind who could be deemed a success?? |

I don't really think Rush was a great success either. |

They were more than grateful of what he gave to the club. |

Best ever Brit at a foreign club was John Charles at Juventus - idolised by the fans over 40 years after he left them. Was never sent off or cautioned - the Gentle Giant
