Only United can stop Barca now. That's on the proviso we play them before the final with the 2nd leg at OT.

lets not forget that we trashed 4-0 milan, after beating them in their own park

not an obscure german team that never won a thing

we are still good

Barca have been very good, but Stuttgart have also been embarrassingly bad.

I really want so see him take his game to a new level and push on from last year i.e. adding regular array of goals to his game but he seems content in his current role.. which is fair enough but as a fan of him it'd be nice to see him get even greater recognition.

I see weaknesses in his Barca team especially on the counter, but who will be the first to bloody truly expose them on it?! I guess it's hard when you going aginst Messi who is better than Maradona and Pele and Zizou put together x infinite plus 1.

That was at the end of the Rijkaard era. Same players, different team. Can't use that as a yardstick for the current Barca.

I agree. But they are brilliant players who are capable of individual moments of brilliance, but none of them couldnt do it against us over 2 legs. Still think it speaks a lot about us. Much the same I can say about how chelsea shut them out completely last season to good effect.

That's because the lot of them were either out of form or unfit(in a fat, lack of training kind of way)

They weren't a team back then, they are now. That along with their discipline and fitness makes them such a different proposition, as we found to our cost in Rome.

Don't put words in my mouth. We nullified Barca brilliantly that day.

If only Ronaldo hadn't bottled it or Carrick had passed, we might have won.

Thankfully, it didn't matter in the end.

But comparing the current day, all conquering Barca to that waning, 3rd in the league side is ridiculous.

They werent as bad as you suggest. They are brilliant now and favourites for the title, no two ways about that. But I still think we did a pretty good job against a what was also a good team comprised of brilliant players.

You should really bother to read it all before you comment. Even stevie wonder will tell you about the miles of difference between barca of that year and barca of now. Thats a no argument.
All I'm saying is a team with a sound defence can do them over. Which only us or Inter possess among the remaining teams in the CL.

We did do a good job on them, but we'd had lot more on our plate if we were playing the current Barca.

That team lacked everything Barca late 2008-present has.

They weren't bad but to finish 3rd in La Liga behind a smalltown club like Villarreall shows just how far they fell and how high they've risen since.

Why??? In the contrary, i feel sorry for him having to spend much time on the bench. When he plays consistently he's very good, but when benched he loses his form

Where were you when they won 6 out of 6 in 2009? Are you really asking them to repeat that or what? There was always going to be a comedown from last season.

They are still hot favourites for a La Liga/Champions League double.

No shit. Chelsea came close to doing that last season and Rubin Kazan's outstanding defensive displays against them this season shows that as well.

Obviously a bit of luck helps too.

Over two legs, I'd fancy us to have a good chance, especially with an in-form Fletcher available this time around.

Current reigning champions of the CL, La Liga and World Club champions. And they are in a good shout of retaining all 3. That's pretty impressive.
