Knew you'd turn up GB....nothing personal but I also knew you'd say that my points were shite..in fact the bigotry and intolerance for catholics is well known at Windsor..its in the village FFS and whereas there are plenty of Rangers / Linfield tops on show ( banned yeah right)..I would'nt much fancy ( god forbid) wearing a shellic top in that crowd... those who deny it are kidding everyone here and themselves on...dont much care for catholics myself TBH but some of the stuff that goes on in NI beggars belief and has been excused by apologists on both sides for far too long. Anyone who has lived away from NI for any length of time can see the poisionous environment in every aspect of society there....and the football team has a wide range of fans..as long as you're not catholic...the odd one or two does not cut it

I personally have nothing against the Northern Irish team and always want them to win except when the play Ireland which hasn't happened in a while! But the fact remains I would never feel comfortable or accepted at Windsor park and that's the sad truth. Not since the 86 world cup when i was 10 years old did I feel like I could identify with the Northern Ireland team. And the fact that my father didn't ever feel comfortable enough to make the 30 mile trip up to Belfast to take me to a match when I was a nipper was a sad reality too. So for people who are catholic and support NI good for you, if that makes you a better person than me so be it! All I know is It feels right for me to cheer on the other Irish team and has done for over 20 years now. I also notice that these people who are advocating this new NI football team with a few Catholics on it are the same type of people who are wholly against the idea of one Irish team without ever giving a counterbalance to the argument that a bigger squad pool would make us a stronger team. At the end of the day, despite glorifying the new catholic element in the NI football team, the old insecurities of "Im not going down to Dublin to watch them play" or "what anthem will be played" etc etc tend to rise up which in my mind is very hypocritical. |

That's just bollocks, the lad tried his best for his national team and didn't deserve death threats and the like, if you think he did then you are just as bad as those who made them!
