""However, Scolari added: “Ashley Cole felt his back was sore but he will be ready for Sunday.

“Alex has a problem with his back and so has Terry. ""

There's a gay sex joke in there somewhere.

Looks like it's a REAL injury this time. No sympathy for the cheating bastard. I hope it hurts.

Even better with the quotes from Yahoo sport:

Captain John Terry suffered a recurrence of a back complaint while fellow central defender Alex picked up a buttock injury.

"I know nothing about Drogba, I just came into the room and he is with the doctor," Scolari said.

"Alex said he had a problem and can't move, John Terry is [hurt] in the back.

Obviously I wouldn't wish such an injury on someone, and I hope for his sake he recovers from it well. But such injuries are part and parcel of football, its the breaks you get. Scholes had it yesterday, Drogba today

If he's missing half or the majority of the season though, I don't think Chelsea can win the league. Unless they keep themselves in the hunt and buy a new striker in January
To be honest I can't see them getting Drogba quality forward in January. So like you I think they are screwed if he is out long term. .

I don't like this one bit. Liverpool playing shite but winning and United, Chelsea losing key players. Don't like where this is heading, but it is early doors and Liverpool will have some injuries of their own.

He's a complete twat of a footballer, and by all accounts a complete twat of a person, and he plays for Chelsea.

It's hard to feel anything other than pleased about this development.

The fact he's constantly feigning injury for the slightest of touches really does play a part in me hoping its a long and painfull one.

That is something completely false, the player on the field is a dickhead with an abysmal attitude but the man outside of the field is geniune great guy who choosed to play for Ivory Coast whereas France had him with open arms. He's fighting to bring peace in his country and in an ambassador at the UN (or something like that). I respect the person but despise the player

Lampard also suffered a back problem, but this was from carrying Chelsea so much. (strangely, recently ive found myself more tolerable to lampard rather than calling him a man who only scores thanks to deflections :-!)

Sad to hear, but tbh, chelsea wont miss him that much. Obviously hes a big player for them, but they havent struggled so far without him. If they can get him back by midseason, they wont have a problem.

Fuck all wrong with him, by all accounts. Minor strain or somesuch.

This confirms my long-term suspicion that he is, pound for pound, the biggest pussy in sport, by quite some margin. Embarrassing to watch, he really is.

Nonsense.

On the pitch he's a complete gimp, and off the pitch, he's always coming out with childish, ego fuelled rants, which are often as cringeworthy as his on pitch behaviour. Even a lot of Chelsea fans think he's a bit of a cock.

Remember that article that revealed he'd been buying loads of his own shirts from the Chelsea megastore, so he could pretend that loads of people bought his shirts? That's the kind of person Didier Drogba is

Fair enough but I must say i'm surprised you're only picking on the negative aspects.
I remember that article ,i somehow have the feeling if it was a United player concerned , none would have believed it .

He's done a lot of good work in the Ivory Coast, to be fair. Didn't he once intervene and basically stop a civil war?

Of course, this statesmanlike behaviour is almost certainly related to a need to satisfy his gargantuan ego.

There are only negative aspects, except for "Didier Day" or whatever he calls it, which even in itself is pretty cringeworthy

and wasn't that article backed up by Terry and Lampard? I can't remember now

maybe in order to keep some sort of balance . He wasn't that much of a dickhead on the field at Guingamp and Marseille, I guess it's a trademark of Chelsea

These sort of things happen in Africa in order to celebrate great athletes. Put things back into context though , the "Didier day" is celebrated (i hope anyway ) by his harcore fellow countrymen fans.

A shame about his attitude, because he's probably the best targetman in the world right now.

He was capped by Ivory Coast long before he became good enough to even be on France's radar, while he was at Guingamp. Also, I'm not convinced it's particularly praiseworthy to play for the country of your birth.

Trust me back then he was on the radar as a potential futur striker. It was so obvious for a club of that level he was above everyone and his duo with Malouda was very good.

Fair enough, being from France you probably have a better idea than me, but from all I have read, his season at Guingamp was the first season he looked like he might be a top class striker. But, as I said, I'm only going on English media for that.

You're right with your information .I think what made him also choose Ivory Coast is the fact he would instantly play for them whereas France had a lot of quality strikers in front of him back then. He had potential but it would have taken something special at that time for him to be selected, Ivory Coast was the easiest way for him to play international football
