Euro Trophy

Did anyone else notice this:

The trophy seems to have changed size, since the last Euro. Either that or Zagorakis is a giant. Does anyone know whether they give a new one away each time.

EDIT:
here is the explanation
http://euro2008.worldcupblog.org/new...euro-2008.html

Definitely don't agree with changing the trophy. What next a super sized World cup.

well i still think its a great cup the reason its so big is that they add a new ring to it every year which has the names of the people who won it.

That trophy is disgusting.

It offends my visual.

They don't add a new ring every year. They add one when they run out of space on each ring. It will be too big to carry at the end. I will give you some pictures on how it should be used.

They do add a new ring but they remove one of the older ones. It's a fantastic trophy and probably the hardest trophy to win.

From Wikipedia: "Originally inscribed the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup, the trophy was donated by former Governor General of Canada Lord Stanley of Preston in 1892 as an award for Canada's top-ranking amateur ice hockey club." Lord Stanley, given name Frederick Arthur Stanley, was the son of Edward Smith-Stanley, 14th Earl of Derby, a former British Prime Minister. So he was about as English as they come, and he happened to like that trophy.

But don't let that get in the way of a good "Yanks are classless rubbish" whinge.
