Interesting, because I'd have shown him a yellow card for his reaction yes. Players are meant to be respecting officials, and Cahill showed him complete disrespect, refusing to turn around or go back to the ref who'd been calling him

But he showed a straight red didn't he? Which doesn't work. He'd have needed to show a yellow for the initial challenge (and it was a yellow card challenge, no more no less), and then another for the disrespect, and THEN the red to indicate he'd been booked twice and should leave the field

1423: SENDING OFF
Tim Cahill is rightly given a straight red card for a very, very poor challenge on Xabi Alonso. It's not in the Emanuel Pogatetz league, but it's a bad one nevertheless and you cannot argue with Mike Riley for showing red.

Cahill will miss those three games then, good news for us as he's a really good player and Everton's doesn't have a big squad.

Liverpool - 21 fouls = 3 yellows

..I bet we had less fouls against Chelski and still managed to get 7 yellows...

That's bollocks. It was mistimed but not at all malicious.

It was a shocker of a decision.

He didn't make contact with the leading leg but swept him with the following leg, red seems harsh.

The hit out Cahill himself received i though was worse considering there wasn't even a ball there to win.

I can understand his reaction. Did you see him getting kicked just a few minutes before the red card incident? Arbeloa just fucking kicked him, no chance for the ball; if this foul was a sending off (of course it was not, but in Riley's opinion it was) then Arbeloa should have been off as well. How a professional footballer can respect someone like Riley is beyond me, this guy is a joke of a ref.

Someone should try telling that to Christofaux and The Hairdryer.

Well I made that point earlier too. Everton should appeal that red now and see exactly what the FA does. If they do nothing, then Everton should complain about how easy it was for John Terry to get his overturned. But then again like I also said before, John Terry is the England captain so are you really surprised.

Yes I saw him get kicked, and the guy got a yellow card

It doesn't excuse Cahills reaction

But he wasn't sent off for his reaction anyway. He was sent off for the challenge. It wasn't clever, but it wasn't a sending off in a million years

Poor from Everton, should have started with Saha and Yak and went for it, didn't work.

Some of you people are so stupid it's unbelieveable.

0-2, should have been 0-3, the better team from start to finish.

Keane - Low on confidence.
Gerrard - He can't play in the middle, lacks positional discipline, Rafa doesn't trust him there...
Kuyt - Great movement, work rate, first touch and decision making.
Alonso - Class personified
Torres - Torres

Cahill - One of the most overrated players in the history of English football.
Arteta - Dived to get his best mate booked, classy.
Felaini -

Riley - Fuck off you weasel faced shit. You are an utter buffoon and you got almost every decision wrong for 90 minutes. The only thing he did right all game was to book Yakubu for diving and even then he could have let play carry on and book him after. An utter turd of the highest degree, will the ineptitude of the FA show no limits?

Cunts.
