I was wondering what happened to a thread on this...
We could get rid of JT & Capello in one go, not a bad option. Good old JT, England's fucking lion, has managed to destabilise everything for the 2nd competition in a row. |

I don't think he's a poor manager, or that he has even done a bad job. However I just don't think he's right for England. He strikes me as a manager who would not have any rapport with his players. I can imagine him treating them like machines, trying to show emotion and passion but we all know robots cannot cry. Maybe he'd be better off using his mechanical abilities to fly around the world pretending to be an evil Postman Pat. He could use these powers to scare children that are being little shits.

Yes, it'd make complete sense to sack one of the best managers in the world four months before a major international tournament because you don't have players good enough to get results.

I'm thinking we put up with him for a few months, make him the scapegoat for our inevitable failure at a major tournament that he's leaving after anyway and move on to a brave new future under Sir Alan Pardew.

This was always going to happen, and it's not going to be pretty. Harry will take over, and the England team will be a complete shambles in the Euros.
Also, it will spell the end of Tottenham as a top 4 club, as they'll no doubt bring in another clueless manager from abroad. It's hilarious for a United-supporting Norwegian tired of hearing the outcry from Ingerlund-fans who believe the next championship will be theirs, though. |

He's made one fumbling mistake after another. It's actually some achievement these days to turn the management into a bigger joke than the team. |

The majority of England fans think the team is hopeless and have no chance of winning a tournament. Odd misconception to have. |

To be fair, we were one of the top four or five favourites going into the World Cup according to many gimps on here...despite roughly half the teams in the tournament being as good or significantly better. All based on us beating some shambles opponents in the qualifiers whilst still playing very poorly.
It's not too hard to see where the perception of England fans being deluded comes from. |

Actually not just in England, England were top 5 fave favourite in most betting markets actually, with the easy group, ghana in the second and the even worse france/uruguay in the quarters, it's not hard to see why tbh....fell apart at Rooney getting injured though. It was probably the most favourable run possible.
Also, the FA aren't smart to have planned this to get rid of Terry and Capello for next to nothing...prolly both be back leading by the summer. |

Gary Neville was right about the Sven era in that the team picking itself brought no fear to the opposition, they knew what we'd do exactly because the first 11, as good as they mostly were as individuals was always the same and became stale very quickly after Euro 2004.....Fabio simply became too reliant on Rooney.
Both made howlers in selections too, if Greece and Denmark can win a tournaments with sides of a similar or way lower level, and many other teams can make the semis....im sure were capable of it(semis mainly), just need the manager to have the balls to go against PR people and agents forcing their players in the teams all the time. |

This is a guys whos dream partnership is Crouch-Defoe....luckily enough Levy gave him two gifts in the way of Van Der Vaart and Adebayor, and did what he said he would in keeping Godric. Parker was all 'arry though, fair play.
