Hi mate,

Basically, I just wanted to know what the situation is with Adel Taarabt. The kid looked pretty nifty when he first came, but I havent seen or heard of him since last pre-season, when it looked like he may break through...

He should have stayed in france longer didn't get much of a shot at spurs only like 5 games as subs or crap league teams. A younger ben arfa who plays anywhere in the most advanced positions except leading the line. Doubt he'll be around much longer with ramos in charge.

He's out in Spain training with the rest of the first team squad.

He has undoubted talent, but needs to learn when to release the ball and be more of a team player, rather than trying to beat 5 players in a row and then score a spectacular goal.

He only turned 19 a couple of months ago, so has plenty of time to develop. I don't know how Ramos sees him or what his plans are. But with 7 subs on the bench for next season I'm sure Taraabt will be a regular part of the match-day squad and will get some chances to play.

Tottenham's summer signing Abel Taarabt has revealed he chose Tottenham over Man Utd and Chelsea. The Moroccan born French footballer had signed for Spurs from Lens over the summer.

He told Hotspur magazine: "I didn't know much about this club, but I did know Spurs were one of the top five teams in England.

"I had heard of Damien Comolli, who contacted me. I spoke to Chelsea and Manchester United, but I am realistic. I thought I could develop quicker at Spurs. In France, it is like a chess game, with far more tactics, but here it is more open, very fast."

Taarabt's agent, Rudy Raba, says the youngster can be the new Zinedine Zidane.

"I am hoping to become that but it is my agent's opinion," Taarabt said. "Other people have said this as well. I just want to reach that level."

From the days he signed.

He must be feeling pretty disillusioned right now

Each time I have seen him (and that's not often) he's looked good. Unpolished, but brimming with attacking spirit and a few skills.

Last time I think it was in the Arsenal hammering where he picked up the ball on the wing and really took the piss out of the Arse midfield with tricks and a few nut-megs as well.

Taarabt is a talented player but I was under the impression that some Spurs fans have already turned against him and have given him some abuse even though he is only just 19 years old. Is this the case or am I mistaken?

I've heard some Tottenham fans slaughtering him which I found incredible considering his age. It shows a complete lack of patience and understanding when young players especially coming from a foreign country are immediately judged to be not good enough.

I've not seen much of Taarabt, but whenever I've seen him he's impressed me. I thought he should have got more time ahead of Malbranque, maybe he'll start more now Malbranque's gone.

You should have seen some United fans on here, RI or other forums when Ronaldo was 19 and into his second season of English football.

Every club has its fair share of morons, us included. I remember a thread titled "Anderson = the new Djemba Djemba" around September 07
