He is a hypocrite. He stood on the touchline a few weeks ago in the match against Liverpool and was waving the imaginary card towards the ref. He can't speak about anybody moaning about decisions.
Agree about the one against Liverpool a few weeks back. Waving the card from the sidelines was bad.

I think he is entitled to ask the FA to be consistent. Its after the match. Noone is going to be pressurized into making a quick decision that might be incorrect. I dont have a problem with this at all.

A positive for City fans is that Johnson's a two-footed player

It will. Kompany and Yaya Toure gone and Spurs coming up soon. Another Balotelli incident would be nice right about now.

Can't believe you drew me into that one.
Not all two footed tackles are dangerous. So Glen Johnson should have been sent off then?

Not all, but when you're trying to win the ball from someone's feet with one, then it usually is.

Glen Johnson deserved a red more (IMO) than Kompany.

Both two footed and studs showing which we're told you're not allowed to do these days.

Don't think he is trying to get him in trouble, he's just trying to bitch out of losing the much bigger game and it just shows that despite losing to Liverpool tonight that his mind is still on that defeat. He didn't look right before the game in his interview either, hopefully its the start of some Keegan/Rafa style cracks appearing. If Manchini moans about the tackle then it deflects from his team.

Nah not all because the momentum from a two footed tackle with studs showing can go onto to seriously damage a player, even if initially 'winning the ball'. For ages a thing has been made about these kind of tackles, yet when it helps United out its mention on loads of football shows way after the game. Was the same with Rooney's elbow, 4 match of the days they mentioned it!!! FOUR!!.

No he's not, he's just trying to ease the defeat to United on himself and his own team. Don't think he really cares if the Liverpool player gets banned or not. He'd much rather have Kompany back them see a ban for them.

Rawkishness would have been how the FA, refs, leagues etc are against us when the sending off on Sunday was unfair as Kompany was once friendly to Nani at a previous time in one of our games and couldn't have been guilty of the tackle he did as he loves Nani secretly

Isn't that the issue though, 'not all'. You either issue a red card for going in two footed or you don't. You can win the ball without having to do a sub-zero slide tackle.

When I said 'not all' I was referring to the tackles that are outside of a five yard radius to whoever has the ball.

Two-footed = red card.

Didn't enjoy the BBC coverage tonight being a United fan. They kept going on about the FA cup game and that tackle during commentary from Larwo and co, it was like they had to get their stamp on it as they never had the game rights. Then the pundits of Hansen and Dixon etc have their turn. They got beat, sure it was close in the end but move on.

That main MOTD commentator seems to hate us. He's not far off Champion and Burley.

I think there's a big difference between Kompany's and Johnson's - Johnson's wasn't dangerous because Lescott wasn't close to the challenge. You need to draw the line somewhere else Andy Carroll will get sent off for slipping over 50 yards from the action.

I've only seen Johnson's 2-3 times though, was it possible for Lescott to be caught? Did he move out of the way or refrain from going in? If so I'm fine with changing my interpretation.

I don't buy into this paranoid hog wash. I've heard all of the above names praise us on many an occasion.

I noticed even in victory Dalglish couldn't help make a few sarcastic "jokes" in the post match.

The man really is an odious cretin.

No difference at all.

According to Law 12, foul challenges fall into 3 broad categories. Careless, reckless and using excessive force. These are precisely defined:

Quote:
Careless: The player has shown a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or that he acted without precaution.
No further disciplinary sanction is needed.

Reckless: The player has acted with complete disregard to the danger to, or the consequences for his opponent.
A player who plays in a reckless manner must be cautioned.

Excess force: A player has far exceeded the necessary use force and is in danger of injuring his opponent.
A player who uses excessive force must be sent off.
Johnson and Kompanys tackles should be both considered to be made using excessive force (jumping in two footed) and therefore both should have been sent off. You dont necessarily have to make contact to be considered to be endangering a player.

"and is in danger of injuring his opponent"

You could argue there was no danger of Johnson injuring his opponent. I've seen it again and it looks worse than I remember, but I still don't think Lescott would ever have been in danger, he wasn't close enough. Stupid tackle though.

I'd maybe need another look but i thought Lescotts leg was right beside the ball, close enough to be at risk from a player deemed to be jumping in without control.

I think Johnson's was a worse challenge if you isolate the type of tackle, but as the player being tackled I'd have been far more annoyed with Kompany's with which I actually could've got injured. If I'd seen Johnson fly across like that I'd be thinking along the lines of "bloody hell you got lucky" not "bloody hell I got lucky".

You won't see a more comfortable win than that at Eastlands all season.

Ours should have been on Sunday until we decided to stop playing at half time.
