So City with the guts of their team out (Kompany, Traore, Silva) are looking VERY ordinary tonight. How many times have we played without Vidic/Rio, Carrick & Rooney/Nani and yet still looked good enough for a win.
Its a long winter ahead, they have been lucky with injuries so far, but will start to get their fair share, and we all know how easily get form can suddenly disappear and then take 5 or 6 games to rediscover (like Chavs last year, Arsenal year before) and by the time you recover it, your are 6 points behind the league leaders. SAF siad recently that right now, it all about being in position for March and April. We have a load of players coming back and despite the recent losses, have started scoring aplenty again. Just need some defensive stability/consistency and we will still be the team to beat. |

Good first half from us. Good to see us to to the Etihad and dominate and have a goal to show for it.
Carroll has made a fair number of mistakes, but at least he looks up for it tonight. If he keeps at it, Savic looks like he'll let him in a few times this game. Downing has gone back into spineless mode where he seems to think his job as a left winger is to pass it to a fullback or midfielder so they can create something down his flank. Shit crosses, as per usual. Would like to see us play more down our right in the second half. Henderson, Gerrard and the backfour have played well though. |
