Won a few bob yesterday thank fuck. Kovac getting booked was my biggest bet of the week!

Fancy City to win today. Tevez to score in the 90.

Chelsea V Blackburn is a diffcult one, did Kalanic to score in the 90 and a red card at some point.

Not a big fan of backing United. May Vida or Rio to score in the 90 and yet another red card. Rooney Carra and Lucas to get yellows

Yesterday I realized that if I hit 1.05 a 100 times, I multiply my money by 131 so I got myself on a challenge. Of course it doesn't always have to be 1.05, you can do both 1.02 and 1.03 in a combo and it will be the same, or a 1.17 replaces three 1.05 bets. So I have to do 100 steps in any combination I want.

Got $80 on betfair and I'm currently trying to do that. Got 4 steps out of the way today with 1 goal or more at Doncaster v Newcastle and backing Estudiantes against Bolivar.

Still don't think it's possible to hit a hundred. We shall see.

Split a £10 bet thus...

£1.25 on Villa to win away at Chelsea @ 8.0

£1.54 on Birmingham to win at home to Arsenal @ 6.5

£7.21 on Chelsea and Arsenal both to lose @ 52.0

Basically that's £395 if both Chelsea and Arsenal lose, and my £10 back if one does but not the other.

Think they could both be tough matches.

nice challenge. But if you get to 99, will you really be willing to risk your €10,000 on just one more bet to get you to 100 and another €500?!

Probably not. I've avoided those low odds so far and just skipped them with anorther 1.15 on Barcelona and 1.15 on Valencia draw no bet today. Both went in and I'm now all 59.3% up from when I started, which puts me between steps 9 and 10.

Hopefully the weekend will be as fruitful, I hope to get to the step 20 with a bit of luck.

It will be pretty stressful once I'm on $1000 or something which isn't until step 55 or something. For now it's just fun.

I think you're initial calculations were off a little - insofar as a 1.15 bet is not quite worth three 1.05 bets, and this difference increases exponentially up through the steps; 33 winning bets at 1.15 would only multiply your initial investment by 83, whereas for 100 winning 1.05 bets it would be 132 as you said.

Just put a £10 accumulator on four away wins at...

Hull - FULHAM @ 2.87
West Ham - STOKE @ 3.50
Wolves - EVERTON @ 2.10
Burnley - BLACKBURN @ 2.70

£570 returns.

I know, you multiply the odds rather than add them. Three 1.05s is actually closer to 1.16 (I've just done my calculations, I used to think it was closer to 1.17). That's why I got an Excel file where I have calculated what would be my income in percentage of the initial investment at each step had I gone solely with 1.05 and I compare my current status to that after each bet.

Today I got on no hat-trick in Real Madrid game at 1.07, needless to say I was full of nerves after 30 mins when both Ronaldo and Higuain were already on two goals, and celebrated madly when Higuain was being replaced by Guti. Then I went with Atletico no hat-trick, no trouble there, 1.06. Then I put some money (not all of it this time, I don't bother anymore with those Latin cnuts) on under 4.5 in a Copa Libertadores game between Velez and Colo Colo, it ended 2-1.

Oh, and did I mention that I have over 1.5 in Cruzeiro game yesterday, got that after 10 mins when it was already 1-0, at something silly low like 1.08, and then waited until late in the second half for the goal? Lost about two hours of sleep too.

Currently I have an income of 98.5%. It's close to where I would be had I placed correctly 14 equivalents of 1.05 (roughly 98% it would be). Still long way to go before I reach serious levels, hopefully I'm going to skip a few steps with a (hopefully) easy bet on Tottenham at 1.24 on Saturday and something in Bundesliga tomorrow. If I'm at 25-30 after the weekend, I think I may actually be fine.

I hope I will finally stick to the pattern when I only bet 1 goal or more in England and Spain, put money on firm favorites when the odds are right (like Tottenham) and maybe pay some attention to no hat-trick bets (as the odds are usually about 1.05, and it's quite unlikely that I will ever get it wrong if I do two or three of them a week).

Yeah i figured you'd already worked it out. You've done well to get so far, can't help thinking that a slip-up at some point is practically a statistical inevitability though and all that money will be down the pan; I'd quit while i was ahead i think!

Nah, it's been so much fun that I actually don't care if I'm going to lose that $80. Hit a perfectly fine 1 goal or more in Bochum game today at 1.08, went in after 11 minutes.

Looking for some value bets for tomorrow. Hopefully I can find something around 1.2 for midday and then wrap it up with a nice 1.05 or two later.

About 110%. I think I'm going to drop that scheme for a moment now and engage lower sums (not more than 50% of initial input) for higher odds in games that I watch.

But when I lose, I'm not going to play another low odds bet until I'm at twice the stage I was when I put it. This way I'm not going to bottle it too much and I may get some really nice money.

Betfair.

I think I'm going with Tottenham and lay on Mallorca today, two big bets (both well over 1.1, Tottenham actually over 1.2). I don't really see Portsmouth doing any damage at WHL.

Tottenham won with ease, laid it back at half-time at 1.02 and made a tidy profit from the initial odds of 1.24.

Now in with a bet on under 5.5 in Bayern game at 1.08 (put it at 70th minute at 1-2, still 1-2 after 80 minutes gone, looking gooood).

What a day!

I won the previous two bets I talked about with ease, then laid Bolton - won again, now laid Mallorca - won again (all-green now, doesn't matter if they turn it around or not).

So I'm now on $236.80 which puts me at 300% of what I initially put, a clear income of 200% in less than a week. Converting it into my little 1.05 challenge I find myself between steps 22 and 23 - so still a long way to go, but this could easily be done by the end of season if I don't lose my momentum.

So I laid Sunderland and Atletico today, brings my account to $314 which is over 400% of what I inityally put.

Thinking about laying Wigan tomorrow, then working something out in the Champions League.

Good luck. Be careful with you bets and think twice before putting them, even 1.05s and 1.1s can go wrong a lot of times.

Meanwhile, laying Wigan tonight proved to be a good bet (laid it at 11, so it was basically worth 1.1) and brought me another $27, which brings me to $341, over 430% of my initial input.

I think I'm going to slow down now because there is no need to hurry. I've brought myself to an amount where I can easily have one bet a day at 1.1 and still earn decent money. No need to take risks now, I'm after 30% of my challenge but I'm not sure I'm going to last until the end - I think I will fold once I'm at something like $2k, maybe earlier, since I'm now moving to a new apartment and could do with some decent TV and sound system.

I think I am going to lay CSKA, Wolverhampton, Bilbao and Bologna now. Inter don't lose at home, I can't see Wolves doing much at Emirates and why would Bilbao win at Camp Nou? If I count correctly, all of these will bring me to $500.

So my challenge ended, but not because I lost a bet, only because I paid out $220 to buy a nice coffee machine, as well as a couple of CDs and books. I left $180 on account and I'm starting over now, only with a double of what I initially put into my account. I intent to make another 500% out of it, and then again pay out over half of it as I've done now. Then circle goes again with a half of what I'll have and so on, like this:

80$ -> 400$ - pay out 220$, leave 180$
180$ -> 900$ - pay out 500$, leave 400$
400$ -> 2000$ - pay out 1200$, leave 800$
800$ -> 4000$ - pay out 2200$, leave 1800$

And so on, though it's probably impossible to play THAT long. I'll be content if I leave with +$1k.

I maintain a 100% record, and am currently on $250 on the same account after winning some money on tennis yesterday, although I got close to losing when I laid Atletico against Valencia (led twice, thankfully Valencia had Villa).

So in total, over last 10 days, I paid in $78 onto my account, have withdrawn $220 and still have another $250 there. Guess I can say I've been doing well with those low odds.
