Football on TV in US

Does anyone know what changes if any the new TV deal will make here in the US? Will Fox still have some (any) games? Or will Setanta have even more than they do now?

If you can afford to pay $80 a month on your TV bill, you can watch pretty much all United's games. Or if you find a pub that shows them all, like Nevada Smith's or whatever's it's called, but I think those are pretty rare.

Get DirecTV, subscribe to the sports package ($12 a month) and Setanta ($15 a month) and you will get every Manchester United game live. We get SkySports Through the Night live at 7:00pm Eastern time.

It's pretty easy to follow now days. I remember when I moved back to the States in 1985 it was impossible to follow.

Either Setana or FSC will televise Man Utd. I live in the states now and can't remember missing a United game this past season. If push comes to shove, some matches are on PPV and you can always buy the EPL seasona ticket package (if you have money to burn.)

England internationals are on FSC.
South american games are on (FSC-Argentina)( Columbia, Brasil, and some obscure central american leagues are on GolTV).

GolTV televise almost every Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter and Milan game...with others too.

Is this the same for Canada, so Sportsnet won't be doing the Premiership anymore?

It looks like sportnet is no longer showing premiership games but it looks like The Score will be showing them instead but I don´t know if they will be showing all 3 like sportsnet used to.

I've seen it on a friends telly.Looks fine, and if you're stuck with cablevision like me,it's the way to go for the moment ,if only for a season.
I'm sick of the the computer to watch games live, when I used to get every match on the tv before Setanta came along.

Anyone know what's going on with Fox and Directv...? I'm seeing adds on FX and Fox Soccer that Directv are going to stop carrying Fox network channels after 11/1, contract dispute or something.

Tbf, I'd watch it in a language I don't understand to spite him if it was equal quality. I'm not going to stream something when I can watch it on tv though.

These things crop up periodically. If Fox and DirecTV don't come to an agreement before November 1, you'll temporarily lose FSC (and the other Fox channels). It may not come to that, though I'd only give it about a 25% chance of them coming to an agreement before November. I can 100% guarantee it will be temporary, as the pressure on Fox not to lose revenue and the pressure on DirecTV not to lose customers increases exponentially the longer the outage lasts.

This weekend's United game is on ESPN3 so we will at least have a good quality stream of the game.

I have dishnetwork and we lost GolTV a few years ago and with that I lost Spanish games, the cunts could give me something else for replacement but they didn't give a flying fuck, so now I have to have the spanish package for ESPNDeportivo and I still have ESPN2 and Fox Soccer.

I'm a new DirecTV user and absolutely hate it. I'd never use them but the place I'm renting from has a packaged deal with them. Their channels are slim picking for their packages, and those channels I do get are surrounded by infomercial channels advertising "getting a brazilian butt" "zumba" and other crap.

I'll be pissed and will make it known how pissed I am if they lose FSC.

Why not just subscribe to the online channel? It's $20 a month but you can cancel it when the season ends. They show tons of stuff and you get other sports too.

Unless your one of the homes that Neilsen use in their sample to compile their viewing trends data it wouldnt matter where you watched the game as it would have zero effect on the rating anyway.

Well, as of tomorrow, subscribers apparently will not be receiving the Fox sports channels on direct tv because of ths contract dispute according to KeepMyNets.com. Which means no United game next weekend. I have a premium package and have 8 or 10 sports channels via Fox. When can I expect my refund?

I am definitely going to call to cancel the Sports Package and let them know if it's not up by Friday night i am switching to Comcast. I really don't care who is in the wrong, I need my soccer.

I'm an idiot, I was searching for ESPN3 on my box, should have gone on my laptop.

Luckily I'm on AT&T, if soccer ever got took, I would switch to Comcast the next day, no hesitation.

I am going to be in the States for around two weeks in November/December. What channels show the Premier League out there? My friend is willing to add them to their subscription.

Fox Soccer Channel (FSC) shows the most. After that, Fox Soccer Plus, which is on another tier. So he will pay a premium for FSC, and an added premium for FSP on most systems. ESPN2 shows one game Saturday mornings: usually 7:30. That channel should be included in his basic package.

Ask him what TV service he has. I believe DirecTV is one of the only ones that has Fox Soccer Plus (which is what the Man United game this weekend is on) but every other provider should have ESPN2 and Fox Soccer Channel.

Pretty sure it is DirecTV.

So I want Fox Soccer Channel, Fox Soccer Plus and ESPN 2.

Thanks!

You may be able to get away without Fox Soccer Plus (as most united games are on ESPN2 and FSC). Fox Soccer Channel is part of the regular sports package and is only $12 a month (you get a ton of sports channels with that). FSC+ is an extra $12 for just one channel (a month).

Here is a site that has the U.S. broadcasting schedule: Premier League TV and Internet Schedule For U.S. Viewers | Premier League blog, soccer news and football shirts from EPL Talk
