France vs England

vs

International Friendly
Stade de France
Wednesday 26th March 2008
KO - 20:00 GMT [21:00 local]

I wonder what surprises Capello will spring upon us and the media tomorrow, nto to mention the Frogs of course].

Reckon Johnson may edge out Wes, i'd have Bridge on the opposite flank but we'll have to see [Ashley Cole didn't have the best of games against the Swiss nor is he in brilliant domestic form].

We will start at any rate, with Rooney in the lone striker role i expect. But he'll need far better support this time around.

I am relatively optimstic for our chances though and the progress that we might see.

No chance to England. France would win, comfortably.

I just read that the main French commentator passed away today from a heartattack at the age of 49.

Very sad.

No age at all for the like of that.

Why is it that whenever I read that FFF, I keep on reading it as "Four Fucking French"?

Lets see if England can raise their game against tough opposition. Another win for Capello would be a good result. Also lets hope Rooney scores.

Unfortunately for you then, the news that Rio and Rooney are probably two of only perhaps three players who are certain of their place in the starting XI, will not be a source of some pride and pleasure.

I think we'll lose, pretty inevitable that Rio will be made a scapegoat for something and there'll be calls for Terry the Lionheart to be made captain again

Capello said yesterday, that he plans on trying out two further candidates before he decides on who will take up the permanent role of captain.

True that. Just saw the predicted French line up, and as individuals it's a very ordinary side. If Capello can get the English superstars playing as a team then England will have a very, very strong team, and could and should be beating teams like this.

I expect so. But I'd personally go with Hargreaves to break up the French attacks, and allow Lampard and Gerrard alot more freedom to go forwards.

Well Hargreaves is certainly the better player, but the English Media seem to be wanking over Barry lately, I can't see him not getting his game.

I personally don't think England will change much under Capello. Typical Capello means gritty, determined teams with one or two match winners. Ok england can do that but i seriously doubt we'll see free flowing pass and move football from the english.
