The more I read #2's posts, the more I am convinced he is like a little dog just desperate to please a certain group on this forum.

His posting in regards to Hargreaves has a perceptible passive aggressive nature to it while at the same time he is slowly becoming more and more virulent towards Hargreaves.

The whole anti-Hargreaves brigade is suffering from a bad case of group think. Their negativity towards Hargreaves is simply reinforcing itself and any legitimate gripes they had about him were long ago lost as they become increasingly over the top.

Was going to make the exact same point. I personally never rated Smith even when he was at Leeds, but I can easily see someone classing him as a "Fergie type player" and I was prepared to give him at least a year and a half before I started clamoring for his exit.

I'm really not.

For instance Forlan. He was a good player, but a relative unknown, which isn't usually Fergie's style. H tends to go for more well known players. Not always, but usually. As opposed to Wenger who goes for very much unknown quantities.

No, it's not the truth. In my opinion it is ,though.

Look, this is all getting a little silly, I worded my post wrong, but hey, so what, really is no need to get so pedantic. I hold my hands up and admit, I was wrong to say it was the truth, as that can never be proven.

However, like everyone with there opinions on this board, I'm as sure as I can be and believe it to be the truth that Fergie was not planning on making a bid for Hargreaves until his performance in the World Cup. I don't know this for sure, but I'm as confident as I can be that that is the case.

The fact Nucks apperas to believe there is an "anti-Hargreaves brigade" who have an irrational hatred of him is frankly farcial. He played alright for England tonight. He played well for Bayern by all accounts. For United so farm however, he's been disappointing, possibly down to lack of fitness, who knows? Yes cnut's being a pedantic old bastard (no offense like ) but you still haven't told us what a Fergie type player is. How is a hard working mentalist tackler like Smith not "a Fergie type player". I think it's because you don't rate him as a player. Care to refute this?

I would say a 'typical' Fergie player is one who has good technical ability, is well rounded (so isn't to one dimensional), has a good attitude 9a real love for football) and one who can play in a 'typical' United system, this being one that focuses on attacking with pace and flair.
