I think the last time they played was at Euro 2004, when James gave away a penalty in the last minute (from Gerrard's shocking back pass) for France to win the match.

Maybe they're actually chanting "but" which is French for "goal". Doesn't make any more sense but it's possible.

We've been criticising England for playing two defensive midfielders but France are just as bad. Makelele and Toulalan? They offer absolutely nothing going forward. At least Hargreaves has a decent free kick and can make runs forward and Barry has an eye for a pass.
