The Game 11/12
Hi guys and gals -

After three years of running and co-running The Game on this site and in the Newbs, I feel my time has come to an end and therefore won't be co-ordinating it again this season. If member(s) do wish to continue this though, all anyone interesting in running it has to do is PM me and I will forward all the instructions and ideas from previous years to them and will be on hand to offer advice.

Equally, if anyone has a fresh idea or a new perspective on the competition, don't be afraid to suggest it. Either way, hopefully something will be up-and-running by the weekend.

The Game is simple: choose FOUR players who you think will score in the forthcoming round of Premier League matches.

These are the rules:

- ONE player ONLY must be chosen from the bottom five at that time, a "super-scorer"
- The other THREE can be from any club, not in the bottom five.

For Gameweek one.. ANY FOUR PLAYERS CAN BE CHOSEN

One goal = one point. Any super-scorer who nets will gain two points per goal. Users will tally points in a leaderboard to be updated in this original post after every set of matches. Good luck!

No entries will be accepted after the first match of the gameweek has kicked off.

I know its close to the start of this, but shouldnt our other three choices be whom ever we want it to be, regardless of position? If I wanted to choose 4 bottom 5 team players I should be able too. Not too fussed if there is no change but seems silly to restrict the other three.

Rooney, Aguero, Van Persie(SS), Drogba

I'm not sure how this worked last year but yes I'm happy enough to do this, as long as the super-scorer is indicated.

Yes, as the bottom 5 is dictated by alphabetical order, any four players can be chosen.

Your doing it exactly as it was olast season I just remember it coming up in the later stages so I thought I would raise the idea now.

I'll second this, it is a completely arbitrary and irrational rule. If people want to choose two from the bottom 5 so be it, so long as one is clearly marked SS.

In theory, it would be a silly thing to do but towards the end of the season, when others have stormed ahead it is a -risky- way to try to make up the gap: not going for the usual suspects at the top teams.
