That was probably the only compliment amongst all the hate spouted.

Lost a bit of respect for Jeff Stelling today for his blatant twisting of what Alex Ferguson said about Lee Mason. He's the one person I expect better from.

Stelling's bollocks about Rooney's 'assault on the homes of viewers' pissed me off enough, I switched it off shortly afterwards as they were winding me up.

I love this programme, and I love the characters on it. But you have to recognise that those players who sit on the panel don't know what it means to win trophies. I mean Le Tissier, Merson etc - great players. But I don't know if they are best qualified to - accurately - judge the merits of a title-winning side/squad, purely because they don't know what it is to be part of one. Everyone's entitled to their opinion; of course they are, it's what they're paid to do I guess. Shouldn't take too much notice of it though...

As for Stelling's twisting of Fergie's words, it is sort of his job as the anchor to fuel or begin the debate to be fair. You've gotta be mindful I suppose, the media love poking fun at and degrading Manchester United, but at the end of the day, anyone with their head screwed on the right way round knows that our football club is among the very best in the world, and boy does it make it sweet when we prove countless people wrong.

It's coming from all quarters at the moment. Football focus, MOTD and various radio programmes this week have been sticking the boot in

Fuel it yes. Blatantly lie to spark debate though is a little different. It was tabloid media level stuff and it surprised me. Jeff Stelling is usually above that kind of shit.

I don't know why I watch (or listen to) most football programmes in the UK because the vast majority of supposed 'expert' guests and pundits rarely articulate a coherent or consistent argument on any issue. I just sit there annoyed by it because the contradictions and fallacies are never countered, even when they are obvious.

Jeff Stelling, who is supposed to moderate these discussions, clearly hadn't thought about the Rooney issue for more than a couple of minutes because the obvious counter to the 'unprecedented' argument is the numerous examples of players using similar language in interviews directly after a game.

And even if it had been unprecedented, how is that an argument for excusing a players responsibility in other circumstances when the reason that it is offensive to certain people has no relation to it being directly at the camera? None of that excuses Rooney, of course, but it does call in to question the reasons for such a strong reaction in this instance.

But then, it should be obvious that playing the game, even professionally, is not the same thing as understanding it on intellectual level, and it's certainly not the same thing as articulating an understanding in a way that actually educates people.

WARNING! This post may contain language which could assualt you in your own home...

Thompson is a big nosed cunt. He said that Rooney should have had a further one game ban for appealing the two game ban. He's fucking praying that we will somehow fall apart in the next seven games and the Rooney ban will be the catalyst. He seems to forget that all we do now is start with the league's leading goal scorer instead, Berbatov.

That show fucking riles me sometimes but the look of utter devastation on that scouse bastards face when Liverpool get beat really makes my weekend. Long may it continue.

Randall, do you go from thread to thread looking for opportunities to pour cold water over those you deem to be acting too Red?

Use to really enjoy this show, was always a great part of the footballing weekend, but its really gone down hill, the inclusion of the likes of Paul Merson and Dean windass are horrific as you'd wager they both went to special needs for mongs classes as kids, concord nose is so biased to Liverpool it makes anything he has to say about them or anything else frankly pointless drivel, Charlie Nicholas just spouts the same old stereotype nonsense you read in the red tops and le tissiers always trying to take the controversial view, whilst stellings turned into a major WUM and shit stirrer.

All in all its gone to the dogs, dont watch the build up to games on there anymore.

Honestly ive gone past the stage of laughing at Windass, its, i dont know, how do you describe the logic of employing someone like that? i genuinely cant understand a word he says, someone in another thread had it right when they said hes like a huge half baked potato ranting down the television screen at you.

I can see why he went into football mind you, i bet his academic achievements were thin on the ground.

Tbh I've always thought stelling's job is to essentially disagree with whatever any of the panel say about anything to give a different view and force debate, no biggy.
