Here we go again...

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...560242,00.html

Steven Gerrard believes Liverpool have all the ingredients to mount a serious title challenge next season.

The Reds saw their title tilt fade away again after a bright start to the campaign when they led the table in September.

Liverpool finished in fourth spot 11 points adrift of champions Manchester United, but Gerrard believes that under Rafa Benitez and the quality of players at Anfield they can finally end their 18-year wait for the championship.

"Obviously I have to be careful that I don't send expectations through the roof again, but for me I am desperate for it," Gerrard told the club's official website.

Believe
"I believe in this team and this manager, and believe we can make it happen. We need help and new players, and the manager needs help from the board to make these signings happen and make us stronger.

"I do expect us to be involved next season."

Signings
Gerrard knows Liverpool must bolster their squad in the summer, but he feels the spine is there to challenge the likes of United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Reds skipper says he has been assured by Benitez that Liverpool will be making quality additions in the summer.

"He doesn't call me in and tell me names but he does assure me and the other players that if anyone becomes available who would strengthen the side then he'll go out and buy them," added Gerrard.

"If you look at the quality we have down the spine, it is fantastic. We have other good players as well though."

I'd love someone to dig out all the times one of the Liverpool players has said this same old shite, we'd have some right laughs.

Fuck off Gerrard you unloyal, money-grabbing, selfish, overrated, scouse, diving, cheating, hypocritical knobshite.

I stand by everything I say. If Liverpool win the league (), then it won't be dwon to Gerrard, he may chip in with 2 great passes and 2 great goals throughout the season, and yet be hailed 'great' for it, but other plays will have contributed a lot more.

To be fair, one of these times it is going to be their year

If they keep on saying it, they well eventually be right

If they buy a top striker, left-back, right back and winger, plus two more back-up wingers, then I might start worrying

Then they'd only be about six players away from finishing the puzzle.

Check out the eight reasons why they are going to win the league:

Why Liverpool will be champions

Oh, and the ten:

"Ten reasons why Liverpool will win the Premiership"

And I'm sure I'm missing about seventeen (a very nice number, you know) more.

I just sat down in front of the computer. Everyone isn't 17 years old and can sit down in front of the computer 24/7 while their mom cooks for them.

Probably not, and not under Rafa either. But by 'they' I was talking about Liverpool in general, and no matter who is there, 'they' well always say this year after year until the title is won...

Can't see them winning anything during my lifetime at least. That would probably kill me anyway.

I dont think that even if they do that they can still win the title.

Remember Chelsea and us have a settled bunch of players and we are gonna be stronger that we have been. They can challenge if they get the right men but i cant see them winning it inmediately.
