It was Evans he fouled. In injury time, after De Gea's save. Absolutely blatant. Wasn't even looking at the ball and cynically blocked off Evans's run.

Why isn't a tug enough to win a penalty? It's a free everywhere else on the pitch, so why not in the box?

I see very little difference in the Young incident yesterday and the foul Evans committed on Walcott during the United-Arsenal game at OT earlier in the season. A pull is a pull, and whether the attacker goes down easily or not is immaterial.

It was Evans he pushed. That was the incident I mentioned above.

That was blatant. I agree Webb did not want to give that because he had given two penalties earlier and a third that would have gave us the victory would have been too big a burden for him.

Webb is overall a good ref. But he will never be a great one like Collina.

It takes courage to do the right thing.

Disagree. Clear pen, when you grab someones shirt as clearly as that, you impede the player, hence a foul and a pen.

Collina wasn't perfect. I remember when he should have sent off Recber for nearly decapitating Kieron Dyer.

I agree, he was an excellent Ref.

I only commented because you said it takes bravery to make the right decision, and then mentioned Collina. In my opinion, that sprang to mind as a decision that Collina bottled. Hence, nobody's perfect.

It was definitely a foul and should have been a penalty.
That's what it looked lie to me - he was leaning forward, attempting to get away and was being held up by the defender's hand. As soon as the defender released the shirt momentum could only go one way and that was down in a heap.

It seems your MotM couldn't contain himself in the celebrations when Hernandez got the equalizer:

Yep, and he was a hell of a lot cheaper than Carroll.

Fergie > Dalglish.

Should have kept Scholesy instead. Jopub's bias is infuriating. And why is he allowed to write "fk" instead of fuck? I thought idiot-speak was frowned upon on this board.

As soon as you grab a fistful of another player's shirt, you deserve to be penalised. If you don't want to risk that, don't grab their shirt. It's an easy enough thing to avoid.
True, but I didn't think he was impeded all that much. Maybe I need to watch it again. (Young likes to dive, though, I'm less inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt than, say, Berbatov.)

That's true. He's definitely a diver. I think he dived in this particular incident fwiw. Still a pen for me though.
