Actually in all seriousness, I think it would be hard for Spurs to attract Mourinho because he may want transfer assurances that Levy can't promise. Spurs run a tight ship and if they did sign big names, the club would be pressured to pay big wages - something that they can't do. Plus Spurs are thinking about a new stadium so the next manager ideally should see the transition through.

I can't see him leaving before the end of the season but if he does take the England job there's no chance he'll be allowed to do it part time.

Now would be likely be a bit of a disaster tbh.

Any of the big names that we might have a chance of attracting in the summer are, for various reasons, not right at the moment. Mourinho (never going to leave Real for us and we probably can't satisfy his desire for signings), Hiddink (isn't he officially still employed in some capacity by Roman? He won't allow him to come here), Benitez (would piss off the players) and Van Gaal (would cause our whole squad to put in transfer requests). Would probably lead to us taking a 'gamble' on someone like Lambert or Rodgers. I may have to harm myself if Levy goes after Moyes.

Might actually be good for us if all parties come to an agreement that Redknapp leaves us to go manage England immediately after the season ends. We were potentially going to be stuck in the unfortunate position of now knowing whether our manager was going to stay until late/mid July. Which obviously isn't ideal. Now at least we'll know one way or another much earlier.

Don't really follow world football that much anymore tbh, any managers from the Spanish/German/French leagues we're likely to nick if we can do so in the summer?

Then again, according to some Redknapp is a pretty terrible manager and Levy is the genius behind the scenes so maybe Levy will do away with the facade and start managing Spurs.

For what its worth, I don't think Redknapp will leave us now, he'll want to finish this season imo. But for a man of Redknapp's *cough* dubious loyalties, its hard to predict.

Personally, I would begrudgingly accept that and then let Harry go with no hard feelings. Most Spurs fans seem to be of the same opinion, though a few are deadset against it. All or nothing for them. How much England work is there even going to be before the end of the season? Hiddink seemed to do just fine.

Nothing really, bit of an exaggeration! But whenever I've seen his teams play, they've played dire football and Everton regularly kick seven shades of shit out of us now, which isn't really what I want in our manager tbh. At least with Mourinho I could accept that because we'd be winning trophies but Moyes? And his record with transfers when he's actually allowed to spend a bit of money isn't all that great. Maybe I'm being too harsh on him though.

That is a good outside bet though I doubt it, Levy would have enough very good candidates lining up to take the job so he wouldn't have to go scouting to find someone decent.

Will be interesting to see if Levy lets Harry divide his time between his club and England.

Come on mate, the two, even accounting for money, aren't comparable. Mourinho is the second best manager in the world imo. I think Mourinho (and Ferguson) are the only two managers in the world who, if we hired them tomorrow, would guarantee trophies. Because of their own mentality and the mentality they transfer onto their players.

I'm a bit confused tbh, Redknapp seems to be seen as a bit of a joke on this board sometimes yet Moyes is seen as an excellent manager and possible SAF successor.

The next appointment is hugely important. We need someone who can keep us where we are, maybe even push us on. Or someone who at least plays good football so I don't feel too sad as we slide down the table. I don't think Moyes would provide the latter and the former would be quite unlikely too. All imo.

Not at all. Redknapp has a far higher rep on here than Moyes.

Check out the vote thread for next United manager - Moyes only got about 3 votes, way behind some really random other managers.

I'd also say Moyes and Mourinho are more comparable than their respective budgets have been over the last 10 years.

I don't see Moyes as a real Spurs manager though. Very hard to think of any home-grown manager that could do it actually.
