Iker Muniain

Has been very good with Athletic de Bilabao this season. 19 years old who plays as either winger or forward. Getting the attention of a lot of people now.

I think it won't be long until the press starts linking him with the big clubs.

Any La Liga viewers with an opinion on him?

Yeah he's been fantastic this season.
Watched him again tonight and he was awesome!

Here's his pass that set up the 1st goal!

He's class. I like him a lot, wish we would sign him.

Wouldn't even mind if we buy him now, in the January window...

I would also very much like us to sign him. He's gonna be a class act, in my opinion.

He's the main reason I want us to play Bilbao in the next round of the EL... I rate him above Martinez and Llorente as the main talent there right now

He's brilliant, I mentioned him about a year back in the "RedCafe Future Stars" thread.

Muniain keeps impressing me when I watch Bilbao, he's so comfortable on the ball and has the football brain to go with it as well. He's definitely one to look out for in the future - one of the most promising talents in the world right now in my opinion.
Must say though, he's struggled a bit in patches this season from what I have seen. Still has it in him to decide a match by oozing past a couple players, but he's struggled to get into some of the games I've watched. Although Bilbao were also missing Llorente in some of the games and Bilbao generally looked a bit rusty.

I do agree with you, Top. The thing is he's played almost every single match for Bilbao this season, mostly because Bielsa can't seem to afford not to play without both Llorente and Muniain, and bearing in mind that Llorente has been injured Munian has had to lead the team in attack, and to think he's actually done it more than once this season at his age is outstanding.

Looks the part but I wouldnt hold my breath about a pro active transfer approach from Fergie. Saying that, if Eriksen impresses against us I hope Fergie has a look at him too.

Watched quite a few matches of Bilbao this season for some reason.

He is fantastic at this age. Will be a star for sure imo.

he was superb when they played barcelona last november.
At one point he was surrounded by iniesta, xavi and busquets trying to get the ball off him and they couldn't do it.

Really like him. Would us rather get him than Gaitan.

always difficult to get players from Bilbao - players rarely leave due to the whole basque thing, would take silly money to make it happen.

We've been linked to Muniain recently, thought I would bump this rather than start a thread in the transfer forum. I have to say he was more impressive with Muniain than Gaitan from the little i saw. Of course temperament is as important as raw talent, but he's young and a terrific dribbler, which we could certainly use. While Gaitan is already 24, Muniain is 19.

We probably have a top 5 or 10 type list based availability and cost.

1. Hazard
2. Gotze
3. Kagawa
4. Erikkson
5. Munain
6. Gaitan

etc.

Not necessarily in that order but based on aggregate factors like football ability, , availability, transfer fees, age, character/temperament, etc.

Given age, ability, and availability, I would venture to guest that Hazard is quite comfortably at the top, which not coincidentally is precisely why Fergie magically appeared at one of his matches.

That's so weird, i specifically searched the transfer forum and that one didn't show up. Nor did I see it when I did a search on the whole forum for 'Muniain'. Sorry!

Ah, he misspelled his name, that's why!
