Ince to be new blackburn manager
Paul Ince will be officially unveiled as Blackburn Rovers’ new manager tomorrow – but the former Manchester United star has already begun his Ewood Park work.
Ince, who succeeds fellow Old Trafford legend Mark Hughes, has been in touch with much-wanted striker Roque Santa Cruz. Blackburn’s new boss – the Premier League’s first black manager – is anxious that Paraguay international Santa Cruz, who is currently playing in World Cup qualifiers in South America, remains at the club. Manchester United, Hughes’ new club Manchester City and Arsenal are all on the trail of the 26-year-old striker. With that in mind, Ince has been in touch with the player’s agent to spell out that Santa Cruz plays a vital part in his plans. Ince has finalised a three-year contract with Blackburn worth £4.5million and has fought off interest from former England boss Steve McClaren, Sam Allardyce and former Denmark international Michael Laudrup. He may have managed only in the lower leagues, but Ince has gained valuable experience with Macclesfield and MK Dons, whose owner Pete Winkelman always knew the 40-year-old was destined for the Premier League. That is why he refused Leicester City permission to talk to Ince – Winkelman believed his emerging manager could do better. Ince accepts that another of Blackburn’s wanted men, David Bentley, will be leaving the club despite his appointment. England midfielder Bentley is anxious to play European football and is wanted by Liverpool, Spurs and Aston Villa. Tottenham remain the favourites to take Bentley back to his native London in a £15m deal. That would then give Ince a £30m transfer pot as he starts work moulding the team in his image. Blackburn firmed up their move for Ince once the Premier League promised him dispensation over his lack of a UEFA Pro licence, which is now a requirement to manage in England’s top league. Ince has been given two years to gain the elite coaching badge. http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/49334 |

That's quite a leap, you have to admit, to move from MK Dons to Blackburn. I'm not particularly sure that Blackburn's chairman, whatever his name was, knows exactly what he's doing. It's not like Blackburn's ambitions rise high though.

He'll put the black back in Blackburn, from Sparky to Darky etc etc. I wouldn't normally be racist except that I know it would really wind that mercenary twat up. I expect the fucker will do well an all.

Can't bring myself to hate Ince for some reason.
One of my first ever United memories is Ince scoring that cheeky quick free quick where he chipped it over the keeper who was arguing with the ref outside the box. Anyone remember who it was against? |

SSN decided to interview some retarded Blackburn fans about the appointment. Apparently Sparky brought in loads of strikers as he used to be a striker and as Ince used to play for us, Giggs and Scholes will probably sign for them.
